Can he be relied on as r2 for the rest of the season?
Do you think he can keep up 90+ scores?

Current Team- 8 trades $179k

Def:
God, Gibbs, Hart, Hep, Han, Goodes (Ter, Webster)

Mid:
Pendles, Ablett, Swan, Danger, J Selwood, JPK, Priddis, Mitchell (Hrovat, Kennedy)

Ruck:
Cox, Jacobs (Nicholls, Currie)

Fwd:
Buddy, Rock, Nic Nat, JJK, Martin, Stevie J (Staker, Rowe)

Need to upgrade hrovat or kennedy soon
Considering downgrading jacobs to mcbean and playing nicholls. If nicholls spuds it up or gets dropped I can sub in Nic Nat and play staker. I could even sub in Rowe. This would give me 479 odd k.
In terms of the upgrade hrovat is much better cover than kennedy but kennedy gives DPP link. I could easily upgrade hrovat to say barlow next week (barlow be 155 and hrovat -8) and have around 150k spare

What do you think? Can Nicholls do the job?

That's assuming Nicnat actually plays out the season...

FonFatty

Yes he can.
Nic nat might be an issue for u though with his injury concerns.
If u trade sauce to mcbean, I strongly recommend u turn nic nat to roughie.
I'd be inclined to keep sauce though, trade nic nat to mcbean & move cox in the fwd line.

Can't staker just cover nic nat?

Is that really the way its looking?

Nice flexibility there - that's what I want.

Agree you prol need McBean if you're doing a cash grab anywhere - maybe trade a DEF (via Staker) to McBean.

You need to get Nicholls on the pitch and can then hold & cover Danger (& others better).

Ideally your RUCK bench would be Currie/McBean and FWD/MID bench would be Kennedy, Rowe, Horvat, INJURY.

Just saw Rowe - he may fill the McBean role?

from what i've read is that if they dont rest him now his season might very well be over.
he's a BIG chance for OP, and thats why club doctors are urging the coach to rest him up.
if its 2-3 weeks im all for it. we all have Nicholls/Staker as cover so we are all fine.

I don't seem to understand... What about T Mitchell? Or are you supposing he starts most weeks

OP? Operation? Over playing?

So if he rests this week he will most likely play most of the remaining season?

Charlie dixon back this week. May well affect nichols scoring. He may share ruck duties.
Bit like hickey and mccevoy

Will watch that with interest because if there's any signs of Nicholls not scoring at full potential with Dixon in I may have to reconsider who I trade out, between him and Ivan.

But surely with him just coming back he'll spend 90% forward and give Nicholls a chop out when he needs it, not sharing the load generally?

jfitty

I don't think Dixon returning should affect Nicholls at all. Dixon is a forward that will pinch-hit in the ruck (Gorringe and J.Hall have done this while Dixon has been out), whereas McEvoy and Hickey are both legit rucks, different scenario.

I'd say with the form Nicholls is in Dixon may not ruck much at all. Particularly coming back from a few injuries they may choose to ease him in as a forward only.

roo boys!

Agreed, think Dixon's inclusion will affect Nicholls very little, if at all, he'll still be far and away the number 1 ruck. Just more worried about it affecting my R3 Gorringe's JS....

Go for it. nicholls is a gun, get rid of jacobs
