Jason Winderlich's last 3 scores have been 99, 110 and then a massive 153 on the weekend against the Bulldogs. Plays the Giants this week, what do you think he will score? If I traded him in, I would basically only need him on field for one week due to Steve Johnson's suspension, barring any injuries or unless his good form continues. He was a handy player in 2009 and 2010, averaging 87 and 94 respectively, which shows he does have potential. Would you guys pick him up if you had the chance for 411,000 and a BE of 2?

Forward line is: Bartel, Johnson, Riewoldt, Kennedy, Martin, Rockliff <Macaffer, Staker>

I say go for it but wouldn't keep him for the finals, alot of people got burnt with Westoff and his low BE's, then he threw a stinker.

Yes, however Winderlich is a bit different to Westhoff because he has actually had some good DT history, whereas Westhoff was a spud before those scores.

Wnderlich had a very different role when he averaged 87 & 94. He was one of the Dons followers (ruck rover/rover). Now he is a forward, he'll make you cash that's for certain but I have to agree with bigdaddyg, don't burn yourself by keeping him in the finals unless it's against teams that the dons will defeat convincingly

I'm keen on getting him this week but my biggest concern is that he is coming off a 150. Players seem to never go big after a 150. I've nearly made it a rule to not get players after they go that big. But he is playing the giants this week. That might be a bit deceiving though as the giants will be much much more competitive this week I think so it might not be such a free ride. I've got craig bird but I want to bench bird as he comes up against the eagles who he might not do as well against.

this season:
Westhoff rd2, Cornes rd4, Birchall rd4, NRoo rd5, Lynch rd7, Ellis rd8, Griffen rd10, Goddard rd12, Boyd rd13, Prestia rd14, Swan rd15, SJ rd16, Pendles rd16, Winderlich rd16

didn't actually think it happened THAT often

My exact line of thinking when picking a player. I only pick a player who scores a 150 if I'm 75% sure that I can get an 85+ from them every single week. If not I'll waiver them completely :)

Just need him for 1 week, I've completely sold to myself trading robbo to him for the f7 spot. With him this week I get to field 6 premo forwards even with stevie out. Would prefer n roo for sure, and will get him in for finals but can't afford it at the moment. Comes up against gws, should experience a bit more midfield time with watson out and the high half-forward types tend to do well against the expansion clubs.

I'm using a trade that I otherwise wouldn't be doing anything with, reckon it's worth a shot. If all turn to showere, have gawn and nicholls sitting at r3 and r4 who are worth 300k each, could easily make 200k+ downgrading them to a 90k r4.

That's good thinking :) I'm doing the same to avoid wasting a trade. I'm going Stevie J-> Nroo this week (avoid fielding Staker & leaves me with $150k) and next week I'll be downgrading one of my array of rooks or Swallow if he spuds up again and will be going Franklin-> Stevie J. Basically a straight Buddy-> Nroo trade over two weeks instead of one because I currently can't afford it ;)

Yeah that makes sense too. As long as winderlich scores better than staker this week (who by doing this trade I will keep benched) then for me I'm happy with the trade.

You can ditch this idea. Won't be playing this week.

I might be forced to ditch my idea as well, but I could go along with it optimistically knowing Buddy won't drop in price :)
