anyone who doesn't trade him in is seriously having a jaded season  :P

He is a must have at this price and the only excuse for not bringing him in is if you already have 7 premium backs. Was my priority trade this week even before the lockout was finished last weekend

I had 7 but am still bringing him in Hartlet>Grimes! given the amount of people bringing him in, i even want him just to net off in league games...

My worry about grimes is that if you look at his record against the lions it's pretty poor although that's probably not him being played in the middle. In considering going Heath shaw while he plays the two expansion clubs and then going grimes after that as he then plays the two expansion clubs. Thoughts??

I don't think it's worth trading Shaw-> Grimes. If Shaw performs poorly against the expansion clubs and Grimes does well in his next two you could consider it but if you have a player like Hartlett who is prone to poor scores (excluding Hanley of course) go for it :)

I don't think in your situation it would be worth it because Shaw is a good premium back. Try and upgrade a rookie etc. It would be an easy decision for those with Terlich :) I'm going Thurlow-> Grimes so I'm in a win-win situation. I don't know about people in other scenarios but if you have a rook they should be first priority. I think Shaw-> Grimes would be a wasted trade unless you have a plan to bring Shaw back depending on the circumstances (e.i. High Breakeven) :) Hope that helped :) I think Shaw-> Grimes is not a great choice man  :-\

Yeh I might not end up doing that specifically. Might go say Myers to grimes. Just highlighting the times that they play the expansion teams and where you would expect them both to score well.

Myers-> Grimes would be a good trade but Myers can potentially go big :) I still think it's worth it but if Myers has a low BE might as well wait another week or so :)

Still Myers-> Grimes> Shaw-> Grimes by a country mile :)

2 expansion clubs means squat for a defender, remember Birchall's run of Melbourne, GWS, GC
remind me how that panned out

hint: scores of 36 vs GWS, DNP vs GC, and 78 vs Dees

Birchall
GC: 84 (2012) 101 (2011)
GWS: 36 (2013) 103 (2012)
MEL: 78 (2013) 103 (2012)
POR: 127, 89 (2012) 91,100 (2011)
WB: 93 (2012) 113, 129 (2011)
Only one really poor score there for a defender
Can hardly base that on an argument saying they won't score well against weak teams

I don't think we can really base a majority of players scores in dt by who they verse. The only real players you can do it with are key forwards if they will definitely score and abundance of goals (GCS can't really be considered a bad team this season imo) or major ball winners. Besides that, all other players just have to get the ball a lot and that will very from game to game if you don't play either of the two aforementioned roles  :-\

Grimes plays in the centre square not cheap off halfback to set up play!

Grimes is a mid this year so you're guaranteed to pick up a Demon's major ball winner :) Look at the impact playing in the midfield has had on Heppell this year :)

Grimes will rack up

my argument was making HShaw->Grimes now, rather than in 2 weeks time
i'm bringing in Grimes this week too

Tominator

trading him in this week probs, ideally I'd trade him in for Terlich but I still have Ellis - that cancer must be removed immediately
