Really pleased to see Nick given a go at the top level again. He was great in the VFL last week, although his form has been questionable this season.

Showed a bit when he got his shot at the tail end of last season, hoping he can show a bit more this year...

Stanton-level-elite aerobic ability as well, sincerely hope we don't waste him as the sub.

One of my favourites of the VFL crop for sure.. :)

silloc

Yeah, I was under the impression he was a tad bigger, but he moved and linked well. would like to see a few others given ago next week also.

Glad they have stoped persisting with Davey, even if we do get him playing good footy he's 29. Give that chance to colyer, jetta, Dell'olio. frothing over colyers speed yesterday.

I'll be disappointed if they don't make at least 3 changes next week, maybe rest zaka and bring in kav

AFEV

I thought Nick did really well, 10 touches as the sub and when he was on Griffen he didn't have much impact (although he had a pretty ordinary day by his standards).

Hope he gets a full game next week, although if Hocking & Crameri return, those are his two roles so unlikely he'd be picked again. Nonetheless, happy with his effort.

I really want to see Kavanagh trialled next week, especially if Zaharakis isn't fit. His only opportunities so far this season have been against Freo in WA and Brisbane..Both of which were pretty rough games for a 2nd year player. He could be best 22 very soon I think, so need to give him as many opportunities as we can and with Watson and potentially Zaharakis/Hocking out (and Howlett very drop-able at the moment..) now is the time to inject him I think.

Merrett looks like he could use a rest, get Dell in I think.

silloc

Yeah was about to say merret should have a breather. if we didn't need him i'd say give howlett a wake up call, probs one of the only players this season who is down on last years form.

How far do you think Hal hunter or dagleish are away from a call up?

AFEV

I would imagine Dell will get the rookie promotion before them, so a ways off I'd say - Unless someone picks up an LTI.

Colyers disposal efficiency looked brilliant as well last night which is apparently one of his weaknesses

except for one instance....winders too....both had good games but both made a skill error under no pressure

72% which was well up on his usual output.

Still had a couple of shockers though.  :-X

the one across half back, was just as much a discussion error as a skill error. Goddard's first half was bad, I think they were really in his head.

Definitely think they did. I would say he was feeling the pressure to lead the team with Jobe out. Even though Stanton was named captain, BJ is our best on-field leader (aside from Jobe of course). He knew he needed to do a bit more this week, and he lost his cool under the pressure a couple of times.

Notice he had a yell at Fletch after WB kicked a goal in the last, was weird watching Dustbin get told off.  ???

yeah that actually made me angry, who the flower does he think he is
there was a couple times were to many went up in defence nobody on the ground when it spilled. One of the downers of having to many good talls to choose from

roo boys!

As someone who just traded Michael Hibberd in a couple of weeks ago I did notice a whole bunch of Essendon defenders go up for a lot of high balls coming in. "GET OUT OF HIBBO'S WAY!" :P

But I guess it's probably not even Hibberd's role to be going up there when there's taller!

Haha not really, Fletch went up to spoil from the pack (fair enough, he's like 198 cm), and Dahlhaus crumbed a goal. Not really much he can do about that.

TBH I wouldn't really want to be giving Fletch a spray even if it was his fault.  :-X :P
