partial lock out has been the worst thing that's happened to sc this year.
Agreed too much 50 50 calls going the wrong way for me

it's also unfair for ppl who can use the loophole vs those who can't. I'm pretty sure it's not an intended feature of sc!

Yeah you're right. I think the way around it is to change a couple of rules. In my opinion rolling lockout should be taken away, but so should emergencies. Instead, all bench players are treated as emergencies, and you get the highest scorer if one of your players pulls out. You still have to name a starting 22 side and they are your main team, but if there's a late withdrawal etc then the highest scorer on your bench comes in. That way there's no real advantage to anyone, you pick the strongest team and you should win...

I realise that in an actual game sides name 22 players + 3emg but for the sake of virtual teams I think leniency on the emg takes blind luck away from the equation a little more...

Yeah, I hate rolling lock out. It stresses me out during the weekend that I'm being disadvantaged.

I have stuffed up the last two weeks!
Last week had cloke on the bench cos I was going to loop him with lee but I forgot lee actually got a game!
This week I totally forgot to change my C/VC so had danger as captain on Friday night

Vicious Sandwhich Attack

Personally I have no issue with rolling lock-out, I have a phone though which is clearly helpful except when I go fishing to destinations unknown to VFone..  :)

In any case i have hardly needed rolling lockout this year except for VC/C changes, and one of the times I used it it hurt me. Waters traded in Round 6 on the Saturday before late withdrawal Sunday - My first upgrade of the year!  ::)

That all said I can't see them changing the rolling lockout... One of the main reasons SC exists is that it is an exceptional marketing tool to engage the masses!

To give a relevant example, before SC if there was a game between two bottom sides (Let's say GWS and the Bulldogs), it would have been unlikely that I would watch, unless there was a chance it would be a legitimate 'contest' (To avoid a wooden spoon late in the season)

Now, with Supercoach I all of a sudden have Griffen, and there are other players the game is worth watching to see  form, match-ups, player positions etc.

The key word here though is engagement. They want the masses to be constantly watching, looking and feeling involved in every aspect of the sport. Supercoach enables this, and rolling lockout has increased the time we are engaged from just Monday and Thursday night for the average punter, to Thursday through to Monday night...

We can all take Tuesdya and Wednesday off!  ;)

Don't think the engagement is any different with or without a rolling lockout VSA... you said it yourself, you're engaged because you're following the players in your match up. Tjat doesn't change if they get rid of the rolling lockout, you still need your players to score well. Rolling lockout just changes which player you're following...

Theoretically rolling lockout = more times you log into your account (I.e. engagement). This means more eyeballs on the ads displayed = greater impressions = they charge more for the ad space

It advantages people with more time on the weekend - can't deny it. Not saying it is fair or unfair (if you commit more time you should get more advantage), but its tough to look at each of the 9 games before the match starts
