Not sure how fantasy-relevant Westhoff is any more, but he got two games, down to one with an early plea.

Zorko gets 93.75 points with an early plea.

In the most hilarious rulings, McGinnity gets 3 games for what was judged to be a sling tackle on Bernie Vince, while Shaun McKernan can get just 2 games (with an early plea) for one of the dirtiest plays of the year, sticking out his elbow and catching Brad Sheppard in the face.

Mckernan is so lucky there was no damage done. That looked like a 6 week suspension at first, very dirty

LF

I find the McGinnity one amusing there have been many sling tackes this year that haven't even been looked at.

MRP has to start punishing the infraction, not the injury. It's absurd that McGinnity's tackle - which was really just part of the play - receives almost as many activation points (6) as a blatantly dirty play against a player who had already disposed of the ball. I mean, if you're going to get only 2 games for that kind of penalty, and you're in an important match, why not just start punching people in the face and knocking them out of the game? The other team plays shorthanded the rest of the game and you miss three weeks. Not a bad trade off.

With Mckernan out Jacobs should do a bit better

Agree 100% Luv here but I am biased given the Merrett one. Maybe if it was Melbourne Club would have been overlooked. Another case of inconsistent MRP.  Would have really been fuming if Brown had copped another suspension for what he was cited for.

So Pavlich more games from his bump on Mitch Brown than McKernan gets for an intentional elbow to a player's head. MRP you are worthless.

If i was a player and i was going up the face the judiciary i would say how can i get that many weeks when McKernan only got 2

"stop! he's confusing us with his legal mumbo-jumbo" ...  ;)

on topic, the MRP are so f*cking inconsistent the AFL should charge it with 'bringing the game into disrepute' - take that and smoke it Demetriou ...  ;)

MRP should listen to Gerard Whateley. His recent article on the way the MRP should be run was spot on.
Set precedents and compare then if u get a unique event send it straight to a tribunal , grade it and then use it as a precedent also in future incidents.

I think it should be straight out bans no good record or bad record crap and I said this last year when Wellingham should have got a few more weeks than what he did get.

Like striking a player should be e.g 2 weeks for everyone (remember just an example) no matter what their previous record is.They do the crime they do the time.

Yeah, they really need some kind of added loading for infractions outside the normal play. Like with Merrett and McGinnity and Stevie J (the bump) and Pavlich, those were just careless plays where the player was trying to lay a tackle or go for a loose ball. If you slug someone in the face or stick out your elbow to catch a player in the head, that should be automatic additional games. Sheppard had already disposed of the ball and McKernan raised his elbow to catch him in the head. It was clearly intentional. You know it's a ridiculous penalty when like half of the coaches and numerous AFL players are saying it's too lenient. Any intent to injure, you're gone at least 4 weeks. Get that garbage out of the game.
