For starters this is my team..

B: Goddard, Heppell, Shaw, Hartlett, Gibbs, Goodes (Thurlow, Oxley)

M: Ablett, Pendles, Swan, Cotchin, Kennedy, Priddis, Mundy, Watson (Mitchell, Hrovat)

R: Goldstein, Mcevoy (Nicholls, McBean)

F: Cox, Naitanui, Martin, Rockliff, Kennedy, Zorko (Staker, Lee)

7 trades remaining and $275,400 in the bank

In defence I am thinking of trading Thurlow > Hanley and having Goodes as my bench cover for the rest of the season.

I had also wanted to upgrade Zorko > Stevie J when I could but with Watsons injury that makes it hard and tight on trades.
Mitchell is good cover but not sure what to do?

Thoughts? Will give a cheer for good advice!

I like the Thurlow to Hanley move.  It gives you a really strong backline with Goodes on the bench.

I think you can afford to hold Watson for a week.  Mitchell plays GWS this week so should score well, and depending on results (sorry I haven't looked at the breakevens) the Zorko to SJ trade is likely to cost you more.

If you can afford it though, I would look at bringing in Dangerfield for Watson in the next couple of weeks.  Dangerfield is in white hot form at the moment, and Adelaide losing isn't effecting his scores.

Vinny

Thurlow > Hanley sounds good to me !

Thurlow is injured for 2-3 weeks as you know and Hanley seems to have turned it around - I think he is almost a must at his price.

As for the other trade-

I would go Watson > Jack mate ! Jack has been super reliable this year.

That leave you to hold Zorko - He does have a soft draw and may put out big scores.

Here is the other option which I myself would do.

Thurlow > Hanley this week.
Zorko > StevieJ ( Play TMitchell for 1 week. )

Next week -
Watson > Fyfe / JPK / SMitchell / Lids

Hope that helped mate :)

Thanks guys, cheer for both of you.

Maggie, I would love to get one of Griff or Danger in so will look into it and hopefully can afford i in the coming weeks.

Vinny, Im a long way off being able to afford to do the Thurlow > Hanley and Zorko > SJ trade in the same week. Once I do Thurlow > Hanley I woill only be left with around 70k.
I may have to forget about trading Zorko and just look for a Watson replacement. Jack or SJ both affordable there

Vinny

Oh right sorry ! Fair enough. Maybe just get Jack and Hanley. Then Hold on Zorko.

Like I said easy draw coming up and might be able to repay us after we got sucked in through NAB Cup glory ! :-\

_wato

Yep, Thurlow to Hanley is a lock in trade. Good coverage across all lines aswell mate, which is good.

I would hold Zorko for now as you simply don't have the cash (Unless you downgrade but I can't see where) and hope he turns it around with his upcoming draw.

Watson to one of Jack/Barlow/S Mitchell/Lids who are all good choices. Barlow has a great draw, and quite consistent this year. Jack is a SC gun this year, and has great form of late.

5 trades with next to no cash left, with pretty much a set team, just underperforming premiums.

Good luck mate, hope it makes sense.

quinny88

Thanks guys. Yeah I am stuck with the Zork I think. I just need to hope he can get some more mid time as he just doesnt get enough ball to score well playing forward.

Do you think I should hold off on the Watson trade this week and just play Mitchell against GWS?

Yeah I do for sure, as Watson won't lose cash, and Jack  (Most likely inclusion) has a pretty high breakeven of 131 so he could lose cash. Should kill against GWS and I wouldn't expect him to be tagged.

Vinny

Yes mate ! As Wato said - TMitchell could absolutely kill GWS as he is very unlikely to get a tag. :)

Unfortunately you would currently be $30k short of Watson to Danger this week if you go Thurlow to Hanley.  One suggestion could be to wait a week, and next week downgrade Lee which should give you enough cash provided Danger doesn't jump too much next week.  Griffin currently requires $64k more than you have, but with a B/E of 152, that gap is a chance to close this week.  The other option if you don't want to burn an extra trade would be to,as Wato suggested go Watson to Jack which would only require about $30k so will leave a little cash in the bank and could be done this week if you wanted.

kilbluff1985

you could do something like Watson to Sam Mitchell or Jelwood then you can still do Thurlow to Hanley

Cats play Melbourne this week at SS to

Ringo

Thurlow to Hanley would be a lock.

I would then sit and see what other developments ocurr during the week especially with the rumours surrounding Nic Nats knees.

Blues Blues Blues

Thurlow > Hanley is a lock, have done myself as soon as rd 16 opened!  8)

I'd wait a while too as Ringo said and see what happens this week.

fever

i didnt read other replies, but what about the hanley trade, then watson to SJ and zorko to pav/cyril in a cpl of weeks?

Keeper27

TBH i wouldnt trade Thurlow out just yet.
you've got a couple of trades, dont be wasting it on things that arent necessary.

Watson/Zorko > KJack/Bartel.

KJack has got a very nice run of games coming up, he'll go huge, and CD loves Bartel.

should leave you with $117K left in the kitty.
