PREVIEW:

A nice little rivalry has been... baking... over the last few months, and I love it. It’s because of this, that I dub Dublin v New Delhi at my MATCH OF THE ROUND! The Destroyers shocked the competition in their last appearance, by losing to the eventual premiers in their home preliminary final. Like the Suns, the Destroyers are accustomed to being the best, and as an outsider looking in, it kinda feels like they go through the motions of the Home & Away season just to get to finals, so to lose a final in the manner they did... it’d be a frustrating 11.5 month wait to get another shot. The Destroyers are the team with the largest amount of elite players, but the least amount of decent players. Without much injury, I’ve tipped them to win the premiership, but I feel they are vulnerable this year. The Tigers, well, what a year. Barring Cairo winning the premiership, the turnaround they experienced over 12 months is likely to be the most dramatic in Worlds History (wooden spooners to runners-up). It was an incredible journey, but now, they have expectation and sit alongside with the better teams (in terms of reputation). Although I have them at 6th, another fruitful trade period will see them challenge again. At home, I’ll tip the Destroyers, but another injury (alongside Crouch) between now and Thursday will make me think the Tigers.

After months of calling the Destroyers out, the Tigers have learned not to poke the bear; provoking the highest score of the round by the Destroyers. Led superbly by Dustin Martin & Nathan Jones, the Destroyers weakest player was Alex Rance's 59. Gee.

PREVIEW:

Without question, this is my MATCH OF THE ROUND! Who doesn’t love a Grand Final replay?! The Jaguars played like a team with a calm assurance as they dispatched the early resistance from the Wolves to claim the 4th highest score of the round. You look at this team and see guys like Matthew Wright, Shaun Grigg, Tom Cutler and Danyle Pearce providing the support... and you think “pfft”. But you look at their stats and that they play support to the likes of GAJ, Cripps, Hall and McKernan and you start to realise that their premiership last year made a lot of sense. The Tigers would be bringing a lot of feeling to this match as their look to enact revenge, or at least a mental victory, against the team that took their dream away. Last week felt like a backfire of a great performance which turned out being quite solid. What I mean by this, is that this team has a high ceiling which happened to not work out because guys like Gray & Ross couldn’t outscore Neville Jetta combined. My tip? Gee man, I’m kinda waiting for New Delhi to hit 160 at this stage, and it may as well be this week than any other.

New Delhi Enact Brutal Revenge on Jaguars

Although Round 2... this would have felt good for the Tigers. Holy balls though, our first 160 of the year! Robbie Gray's amazing performance catapults New Delhi as highest score of the round, whilst there wasn't much the Jaguars could do, except be concerned about the potential end of the dominant days of GAJ.
