All NAB scores updated above. Some good signs this week, hitting 1375

Ricochet

Looking like we could be missing a few RD1 with Jezza Cameron likely to get rubbed out, Howe injured and Wellingham/Krakouer not playing through NAB

Luckily ZClarke should play with Sandi being suspended round 1, and Bugg has been quietly posting decent scores. Davis also went around 75ish unsubbed last year so he can score well enough if required to start down back.

Round 1 team could look like this

DEF Rich[D/M], Wellingham, JHowe[D/F] Bugg, Krakouer
(PDavis)

MID Sidebottom, KJack, Coniglio, MWallis
Scully, MCrouch
(Oxley, JLloyd, SRoss)

RUCK SMartin (C)
(West[R/F])

FWD Darling, Cloke, JMartin, JCameron ZClarke[R/F]
(Griffiths)

That midfield (Stef included) is enough to ensure you consistently (worst case scenario) score 120+ IMO! It's your bookends that will determine whether you win multiple games.

I think the days of New Delhi in the cellar might be over  :o

Might!? NDT Premiers 2016-2018 #Threepeat ;)

Oh we're going to need that back depth now!

Nathan Krakouer cops a broken jaw while out drinking in Perth. Club not happy and says he won't be available for selection until Round 6!

Krakouer not buying into the new direction at New Delhi. He wants to stay a (wine) cellar dweller  ;)

The reigning premiers would no doubt have partied for a long time at the end of last year, but... did they drink enough water? Does the light sting their eyes? Do they have a pounding headache? Where did they wake up? Another busy trade period saw the Suns keep just 12 of their past representatives, but still have the mighty experienced core that rebounded from a qualifying final defeat to a premiership. Ah, and New Delhi. I often wrote about the Tigers with a deflated tone and outlook last year as they received their wooden spoon and first round priority pick. Now? On the surface at least, the Tigers look like they have a genuinely competitive list! Instead of fearing if they will get 15 players on the park, they now have to concern themselves about whether to captain Stefan Martin or Steele Sidebottom? Historically, the Tigers have been stone cold dreadful in Round 1; with scores of less than 100 being achieved in the past. Really, so long as the Tigers post a score of 130+, you could say the positives outweigh any negatives. Nonetheless, I still feel they have some ways to go to matching Mexico City (most of the comp included) and having never beaten them. I will assume the Suns took an aspirin for this one.

Suns Rise from Premiership Festivities

Quote*whistles*, this could be one of the lowest scores Mexico City will post for the whole season, but they still managed to hang on for the win against a much improved but still developing New Delhi outfit. It was a tough tussle early, but the premiership experience overpowered the Tigers in the end, who would still be looking at this season with a sense of optimism. I mean... look at all those club debutants!

Very interesting match this one! Pacific would be disappointed about letting the chance of revenge slip last week against Moscow, scoring a slightly below par score of 130 as the absence of Hurley and Howlett take affect. New Delhi on the other hand, delivered on its promise of improvement (even though it lost) with a score (just 3 SC points higher than Pacific) that would have beaten all bar 2 of its 2015 scores. The Tigers had 11 new representatives take the field last week where the phrase "New Look Team" has rarely been more appropriate. However, the loss of Steele Sidebottom for the next two weeks is going to hurt their chances against the more experienced Pacific, whose forward line is sure to produce after all abnormally underperformed at the same time last week. Either team can certainly win! But I think the HGA makes me lean towards Pacific for this one.
