Hawthorn (60), Geelong (56), Sydney (54), Essendon (52), Fremantle (50), Richmond (48) - SAFE
Collingwood (48), Port (44) - Not safe yet

So i've been thinking, as a Port supporter, whether we'll make the finals now off the back of those two wins. My unbiased brain believes that the top 8 is settled. The challenges will come from Carlton (36) West Coast, North, Brisbane (32), Adelaide (28)

I'll go through the teams run homes:
Richmond
Should wins: Brisbane, GWS
Can wins: Carlton, Essendon

Collingwood
Can wins: WC, North
Good luck: Sydney, Hawthorn

Port
Should wins: Gold Coast
Can wins: Carlton
Good luck: Fremantle, Geelong

West Coast
Can Wins: Adelaide, Collingwood, Geelong
Good luck: Essendon

Adelaide
Should wins: Bulldogs, Melbourne
Can wins: West Coast, North

Carlton
Should wins: Bulldogs.
Can wins: Richmond, Essendon, Port

North
Can wins: Adelaide, Essendon, Collingwood
Good luck: Hawthorn

Brisbane
Should wins: GWS, Bulldogs
Good Luck: Richmond, Geelong

Richmond are a certainty. They are already 3 games clear in the 8 . They are more in the battle for top 4.
Of the other teams I think Collingwood and Carlton

I didn't vote Crows :o

Did I vote Port? :o

Top four is pretty ambitious for the tiges, we just don't have the defensive quality of the top of the table teams in my opinion.

Still, it's highly unlikely we'll make top 4. We still have some games that really are 50-50 as PB pointed out. Of the 9 games we have left, I'm almost certain we'll lose 3 or 4. Likely the Sydney, Hawks and Essendon games and possibly either one of the GC/Carlton games.

Are Carlton gone now?

Yep, can't see them coming back from here, particularly if Waite is out for another lengthy stint.

Pies looking good though. Reckon Tigers, Pies, Eagles to fill the last 3 spots in the 8.

i think Carlton are now gone and so will the loser of the Eagles v Crows on the weekend. The winner has an outside chance

Gold Coast are a massive smoky.

Id love to see that! They don't play any top 5 teams so a decent run home.

I was talking about this with a mate before the Roos game.

PowerBug

They'd have to win tonight, and as you can already see they play alot of those teams that are also fighting for a spot in the 8 aswell.
