QuoteSBS The World Game
Melbourne Victory and Western Sydney Wanderers FC are facing the loss of competition points unless fans of both teams refrain from the type of violent exchanges that were seen in Melbourne on 28 December, Football Federation Australia has warned.

The sanction would be suspended until the conclusion of the 2013/2014 season, subject to the proper conduct of supporters for that period.

Do you agree with this approach, or is there a better way for David Gallop and FFA to weed out the weak brawlers who continue to damage the game?

Wanderers will get the spoon now

A good move this makes the handful of idiots responsible , if they continue to play up there team will lose points the clubs will have to act now or they could end up down the bottom , still can not work out the fascination with flares one must have to have a brain the size of pea to get enjoyment from this .

Ummm, whats to stop Victory fans posing as WSW fans and losing them premiership points? :P

Exactly Ele, it would be really stupid to punish the club for their fans actions.
I'm not a fan of Polenz, but completely agreed with him here.

Mr Polenz must accept the players and the club are one not seperate and at the moment the clubs are unwilling to deal with idiot members this has been going on for years and nothing has been done his story about people robbing banks and such is rubbish I am sure the FFA  and the police will accept things like that have nothing to do with soccer . There is good surveillance at games and TV coverage and clubs still do nothing about the minority of trouble makers , as one woman said she and her family has had enough and was going to become AFL members and give soccer a miss . The clubs are the ones that have to fix this problem and if the FFA does not threaten them with harsh penalties nothing will change .

strikes91

deal with it polenz, your fans are crazy

elephants

So the players are punished for misbehaving fans under a system that is easily exploitable. Ok.

Not much different than essendon this year the club did not control what was going on within and the players and the fans copped it , it is about time soccer clubs take responsibility for there fans actions seems like some people would like things to go on the same , time to stop making excuses

can't see anyone exploiting it. WSW fans are lunatics, you fear for your life when your outside para stadium after a match

strikes91

Both teams didn't fight the sanctions. One slip up and they lose points
