I had some planned trades but now Birch is out for 4-6 weeks i'm a little unsure on what to do and have been just trying to come up with options but can't seem to do so, probably due to the hrs spent looking at it. So i thought i'd ask you guys as you have fresh minds on my team, here it is

Backs: Goddard, Duffield, Birchall, Gibbs, Goodes, Ellis (Webster, Thurlow)
Mids: Ablett, Pendlebury, Swan, Kennedy, Griffin, Priddis, Mundy, Mitchell (Martin, Crouch)
Rucs: Leuenberger, Kruezer (Nicholls, McBean)
Fwds: Cox, Martin, Kennedy, Franklin, Rocky, Nic Nat (Staker, Oxley)
Cash: 343k and 7 trades (YEAH I KNOW NOT A GREAT POSITION)

So would love to hear your thoughts on what you would do in my situation. Would love you to mention trade plans all the way up until the end of the year if possible. Also i'd like to note, i'm not going for the best overall position from here on in, just my mates cash league, so take that into consideration.

THANKS A LOT HAWKERS!!!

I'm also trying to figure out who to trade Birchall to, thinking Hibberd or Shaw atm, but leaning towards Hibberd.
If Goodes is out this week (heard a rumour yesterday), you could trade both Birchall and Goodes to Hibberd and Shaw, and you should still have over 100k left after that.
Then with 5 trades remaining, I'd look at using 2 to finish your mids in 3-4 weeks time, and that's it. Ellis should be a sufficient D6 with the way he's been going.
Hmm, just noticed that you've only listed 7 mids. Hopefully it's a premium. If it's a rookie, probably hold off on trading Goodes, and downgrade someone to Wilson/Daniher etc, and then upgrade a mid spot next week.

Hope this helps.

Thanks and i left out Mundy, i'll change that. Yeah doing the double back trades could work, but i'd lean to Shaw and Ibbo

Hey mate. I'm stuck too this week and I think a lot of us are ! I think I am going to trade Birchall - Blayne Wison (don't ask me why) his JS should be good with hurn out ! This will allow you to go crouch - Any mid and then next week you could look at maybe Goodes - Shaw / Hibberd etc ! Good luck

Look for bargains mate. i would look to bring in hanley for birchall which is only 15k. risky yes, but you need to find the value. if goodes is out i would bring in heppell or hibberd. both are good options. after you do those 2 trades your defence looks set. after that first priority is to bring in a m8 and suddenly your team is looking better.

rnd 14:
goodes > heppell/hibberd
birchall > hanley

rnd 15
thurlow> clisby
crouch > watson (praying you can afford that)

I'm going for your strategy ATM. I have hit the trade on Goodes and Birch and have brought in Hanley and Ibbotson. Then i just have to pray that one of Thurlow or Crouch (BOTH WOULD BE NICE!) get named this week to get me over the line cash wise to get Watson in for Crouch which was an already planned trade within the next few weeks. I also think the type of player Clisby is should see him score reasonable every week. Thoughts on going Thurlow to Wilson this week and save going Goodes to Ibbo until next week? I like Wilsons scoring ability and has managed to stay in the team even with all the ins last week plus Hurn is now out for 8.
Thanks

Just realised Clisby is only 96k. That rules out Wilson and means if i go Thurlow to Clisby as well as the 2 trades this week i can afford to go crouch to a $559,100k mid. Watson sits at $555,500k with a break even of 127. WILL BE VERY TIGHT!!! :o PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE be nice Adel and Gee and play one of Crouchy or Thurlow!

yeah you should be alright to do that plan. jobe would need around 137 to get up past 559k.. you should be ok! but as u said it would be handy if crouch or thurlow played

Yeah you would think so, but then i saw that Jobe has had 149 and 148 in his last 2 against WCE :o , although they where at Etihad. His last game against them at Subi was an 83 in 2011, so doesn't mean anything.

yeh look at Ibbotson, averaging 100+ and has been looking good in the last couple of weeks and not many people have him either compared to Hibberd or Heppell. Maybe check out your mates money league and see if a lot of teams are missing one of Hanley, Ibbotson, Heppell or Hibberd than hopefully if you do find a few teams without one of those players than get the one they don't have, only my idea to try and get a POD in your league. With goodes being out that also creates another issue but on the injury list it says 'test' so maybe wait till thursday on that trade. Next option if goodes does play is to get another midfielder which would mean a downgrade of thurlow to clisby maybe then crouch to maybe Jack who has been amazing with one score below 96 if you can afford that.

Ive had Hanley from rd 1, the first few games he wasnt tagged and his scoring was insane - he has been very ordinary since coaches have started to tag him...I wouldnt go anywhere near him - Im even considering selling him - his scoring is rubbish and is costing me dearly - I can handle the 80s and so but the bloody 50s are rediculous. Lions not winning many has an effect on player confidence

Neither would I go near anyone from Freo besides Barlow or Fyfe, Lyon is such a tactical master and defensive nut that no one is guaranteed to not have a negative role from week to week = rubbish scores. Yes Ibbotson has been solid.

Mate..Ever since Ive got HShaw he has gone bananas...I reckon he is a must have...have a look at his last few scores

Bachar Houli could be a goody also...looks really fit and is enjoying his footy..Tigers are up and about..he is an important cog in their side.

Hibberd and Heppell are solid choices back there.

Basically your team is finished, the premium backs consistancy this year besides Shaw, Ibbo, Gibbs & BJ have been awful. I wouldnt get too worried about having a full backline of premiums...thay are all capable of spud scores on their day.

Heater - if you dont have him and your opponent does, more than likely he will be the reason you lost...like Houli, Heater is a very important cog in their team....definately worth the risk

nice team bud

but 7 trades left?...Jeesh..howd you manage that? You been burnin them solidly every week or what?

Id trade out birchall for Shaw and hold from there...including finals theres still 10 weeks left

I know someone with a 100 tonner crane that amy help you outta that hole...but probably not..

Im goin to get the hose

Thanks, yeah i know..... very pissed off with this seasons efforts. I had some serious bad luck this year (like how i traded in Thomas only to trade him out the next week) mixed with some stupid decisions (Like starting Russel)

Your team looks good and I don't think you will need to use too many more trades to improve it.

I reckon this week just go Birchall to Hanley. I am backing him in to turn his form around. He is too good a player to keep on posting crap scores no matter where Voss plays him. The lions have a dream run home too.

So after the Birchall trade you will have 6 trades left and approx 328k left.

I reckon the only trades you will need to do after that are T Mitchell and K Martin to a premium MID and also a gun MID that can also play FWD. Having that MID/FWD link will be priceless for SC finals. 328k in the kitty should be plenty to basically choose anybody you want as I think that Mitchell and Martin should both get to 400k.

That will leave you with 4 trades for injuries and rested players during SC finals so fingers crossed that there aren't too many outs for your team for the rest of the year!

Bully

Team pretty much set from what I can see, one midfield upgrade and you can sit back for awhile. Five trades isn't many but that's 5 LTI's you have covered.

I have 7 trades as well, a full team, but nothing in the bank. I may even cover Birch if I can, might be better to reassess after a week or so.
