Statement from EFC:

http://www.essendonfc.com.au/news/2013-06-25/club-statement.workstation

There is still an ongoing investigation by the AFL and ASADA initiated by the Essendon Football Club.

The Club and our players are fully cooperating with the investigation. This is a complex and difficult area, but our club considers that our players have acted reasonably during the 2012 season.

The Club notes that it is yet to be determined whether any of our players in the 2012 season were given prohibited or performance enhancing substances.

We look forward to the finalisation of the ASADA investigation, and we thank our members for their ongoing support of our club and our players.

But like Ric said WADA had it banned in 2011 ASADA this year

That's a useless statement lol

Yeah so that's what makes things more interesting... Who's right? Who's wrong? :-\

WADA is World
ASADA is Aus

So I would assume WADA I guess
ASADA will be the one to make the call, then if WADA feels it was/is unreasonable they will challenge/overthrow that decision.

Yeh ASADA would make the decision but in terms of banned lists, wouldn't WADA's overrule ASADA's?

tabs- forgive me if I'm wrong, but I don't actually think it matters when the AFL bans it... the anti doping agencies are independent and still able to prevent players from competing?
Are they though?? I thought that its still up to the clubs and the AFL to ban players. Does the AFL have a banned list that is exactly the same as the WADA or ASADA list?? I would have thought that they would have been the same.

One question i would like to know is that if these banned substances were being taken by these players, how did they get the substances? Did the club buy them? did the coach buy them?? did Dank buy them? did the Weapon buy them??
Someone would have had to buy them, but how do you buy them if they are on the banned list. Surely there are receipts unless they have been bought from other resources.

This could turn ugly for the bombers

Pretty positive.

These substances are banned in elite sporting competitions: they have medicinal use and commercial uses in some cases.

I am pretty sure they have the same rules but there has been some confusion between the difference between S0, drug agency prohibited substances and AFL prohibited substances/methods of administration.

As for your question tabs, one would assume that they were purchased by Dank from a compounding chemist of sorts. Where any evidence of such purchases is, who knows.

Nice work Sid! Wait and see basically, some footy clubs could be angry though, but, nothing has happened yet ;)

To quote Jobe Watson,

"The sports scientists administered the supplements program"

Based on that you would have to assume Dank

correct

Fahey said WADA would only become involved in the Essendon doping probe if they thought there had been some sort of injustice.

"If we believe someone did not deal with the case appropriately, we've got a right of appeal on behalf of the sporting body or on behalf of the athlete,'' he said.

Firstly I must say I'm not an Essendon or Jobe fan for that matter though he has just gone up a notch in my eyes . It takes a big man to be open and honest . I think he and Ian Robson will be able to hold their heads high after this scandle is over . Maybe some of their peers should take note

If anyone can watch tonight's episode of 360 check it out. They break it down fairly well

Bluke

I can't believe the AFL is allowing him to play this weekend. He has certainly brought the game into disrepute, in spite of his best intentions.

Considering he is the reigning Brownlow medallist and sells a showerload of merchandise (top few in the league) I doubt they would ban him unless they had to.
