How good is McVeigh  8)
A lock next year if he's a defender which is very likely.
Definite lock as a defender given Malceski will normally get the forward tag first as well.

If DPP which is nearly certain would be close to No 1 defender picked in advance of Goddard and Gibbs who were this years locks.

Choosing a backline next year is going to be quite difficult.

Lots of aging guns to get DPP though. Mitchell, McVeigh, Bartel, Simpson etc.

i like Mitchell, Goddard, Gibbs, Mcveigh.  If no gibbs then simpson bt gibbs should retain dpp.

But i am going to want to slip in Suckling maybe Waters think there is another one who will be a bargain next season too and a pretty safe pick.

DEF: Goddard, Mitchell, McVeigh, Suckling, rookie, rookie (rookie, rookie)
MID: Ablett, Pendlebury, Watson, Beams, Murphy, J.Martin, rookie, rookie (rookie, rookie)
RUC: Nic Nat, Sandilands (Rookie, Rookie)
FWD: Martin, Rockliff, Wingard, T.Walker, Hogan, rookie (rookie, rookie)

DEF: 3x premium, 1 midpricer
MID: 2x super premium, 2x underpriced super premium, 1x cheap premium
RUC: 1x underpriced premium, 1 discounted premium/gun
FWD: 3x premium, 1x discounted premium

Something like that probably will be my first draft, my calculations based on this years prices that would come to something like $9.8mil factoring in 135k per rookie

with some good discounts a starting backline of
Goddard, McVeigh, Suckling, Hurn, Waters, Bock, rookie , rookie. very high risk but something to look at.

Vinny

For back lines if Goddard keeps.

Probably one of-

Goddard Simpson Hibberd Suckling
Goddard Simpson McVeigh Suckling

kilbluff1985

Hibberd played every game which is appealing but will be hard to look past some of new defenders

Vinny

Yeah true! But he is just so so so consistent. :P

Def: Goddard, possibly Brandon Ellis(99.2 avg if you exclude sub affected games) he racks it up and uses it well.

Mid: GAJ, Pendles, Stevie J(to have a DPP in mid)

Ruck: McEvoy if his price is similar to 300 oddK wchih is what it was at end of this season. (He just had a few bad matches at end but he is a solid pick)

Fwd: DMartin, Cox(if keeps DPP, otherwise ruck lock,  NRiewoldt( i had a different account last year and i said he was a lock and everyone thought it was clueless, stkilda did drop with a thud but Rood stood up with a solid average or 105/6.
Also Bartel if keeps DPP

colmullet

McEvoy ~300K....closer to 500K i would think, average 90+ and played pretty much every game from memory

Fantasygun

Yeah he was great, faded at end as some players do. His finishing price was below 400k so I don't know how much it will change, he should be around 500k. I never said he would start that price, I was going off the price he finished, would be a bargain

Prices go on how much the player averaged in the previous season.
He averaged 93 last year so that's what he'll be priced at. Probably around 500k.

Vinny

D- McVeigh Simpson and X (Depending if Goddard keeps DPP if not probably Mitchell/Hibberd.
M- Ablett Pendles Selwood Watson Cotchin
R- NicNat & Luey/HMac
F- Danger Rocky Wingard

Fantasygun

In that case Brandon Ellis a lock because he'll cost 400k when his average from non-sub affected games is 99.2

Welcome Fantasygun,

Nice to have a newbie who knows his affecteds vs effecteds.
