All these people picking danger in the forward line he is no shot, averages way too much and he is a mid who rests up front. Swan could also be a fwd mid but he won't be

Here is a unique one for you.

I'm not so sure about that. Since walker went down danger has spent a lot of time in the forward line and kicked a lot of goals. Still no certainty to be a forward but has to be a good chance.

The ruck is going to be my hardest area to pick. Whoever goes to GWS would have to be considered, hmac should be a bargain, Naitanui, Maric, leuenberger all getting a full pre season will be a massive bonus.

I know they say they use heat maps and where the players pick up the stats. Cant see VS giving a potential 120 average player DPP.

Swan got 32 goals in 2011
ablett 44 goals in 2010

Oh yeah I certainly dont think kicking goals is enough but he has started a fair few games in the forward line so hopefully they are kind. Probably a little wishful though

didnt just want to infer goals equals dpp but swanny has been playing up front abit too. They just wont do it, watch SJ lose DPP this year too.

Yeah SJ is a certainty to lose it :(

Jack Steven and Trent McKenzie will be two of my certain starters!

Heading into R18 the top 4 mids on points scored are: GAJ, Pendles, Swan and Jelwood. Not much has changed over the last 5 years. I will be locking in GAJ, Swan and Pendles again if all up and running in R1. Goddard down back is a lock in too. Other than those 4 that's it. The remaining 8 starting premiums will be based on price, team balance and positions.
Dangerfield, Watson, Stevie J, Griffen, Steven, Beams and co may make the cut but I'm not going to lock them in if it stops me from affording 2 or 3 slightly cheaper options elsewhere.

Don't think you can lock in any rucks...might be a year when they might be quite different team to team.
Top 20 rucks atm...in order of pts scored...Minson, Goldy, Cox*, McEvoy, Roughead*, Pyke, Leuey, Jacobs, Kreuezer, Maric, Hale*, Giles, Bellchambers, Jenkins*, Ryder*, Nic Nat*, Mummy, Lobbe, Blicavs*, Bailey.
Others of note include: Nicholls, Griffen, Smith, Simpson, Rowe and Sandi.

*2013 DPP

A fit and firing Nic Nat would be a lock...will be relatively cheap with an average of 96.
Sandi has only played 2 games, named again this week, current ave of 52...will be in a lot of teams if he is up and about and cheap in 2014.
Minson, Goldy, Roughead(if DPP), Kreuezer are amongst the better set and forget options for next year....and maybe Leuenberger could be added to this list.
Personally I wouldn't touch McEvoy(not consistent enough), Jacobs(2013 form), Maric(2013 form) and I have question marks over a few of the others...Cox(age), Mummy(consistency and injury), Pyke(scoring consistency/ability to go big) and unproven/improving ruckmen such as Nicholls will be expensive and a bit of an unknown as to whether they can maintain a 100+ average.

My starting rucks could be: Minson, Sandi (rookie DPP, rookie) with fwd/ruck DPP in fwds or Goldy, Kreuzer (rookie, rookie)...
too early to tell but I will be interested to see how Sandi finishes the year and starts next year, beginning this weekend.

The rucks are going to be really interesting next year. As well as the points you've listed above, there is the possibility that someone like Bellchambers may move to GWS, which could make them a more attractive option.

Nic Nat, Hmac lock and load.

Vinny

I might start with Kreuzer and then HMac / Minson.

HMac is an interesting one. I saw him on the list at zero games and $495k...with Simpson bursting on the scene...88 hitouts last 2 games alone and Blicavs having a great debut season, Vardy losing his spot to injury and enough potency in Geelong's fwd half as it is I'm beginning to wonder if he'll get a gig in their best team...hasn't played since R7 last year.

Vinny

HMac is a tough one having played so little games over such a long time. If he tears it up or shows some good in the preseason, I'll pick him up.
