Yay :) bout time we've got a secure spot in the 8 mid-season but still we have yet to beat a team in the top 8 and wanted to know if you guys are fully satisfied with this top 8 spot without having a win against a top 8 team yet.

Nope. I reckon we will play finals, likely finishing in 8th, but I still won't be convinced until we do beat a top 8 team. That will satisfy me. I can feel it though, we're not too far off a big scalp.

You beat Sydney and Hawthorn last year so we know you're capable of playing at the level required to beat elite teams. Just need to produce that consistently.

One out of Port, Carlton, Adelaide and West Coast should make the finals so we've already got one scalp :p

Honestly I think Carlton is the only team looking likely of finals at this stage and even then its pretty damn uninspiring :P

Let's just hope that we don't spud it up in our next three games because St. Kilda, Gold Coast and North Melbourne are all potential wins that could help secure our top 8 spot.

As long as we beat the suns for the First time.

If we win our next 3 then we are playing finals.

I dont care who we beat and how we beat them as long as we make the 8.
You can only beat who you play and cant control how teams go after you play them.
When we beat the dogs the first time they were 8th, when we beat port they were 3rd and are currently 8th, when we beat West coast they were 6th so we have beat teams in the 8.
Of the current top 8 we have played Geelong, Freo Essendon who are all top 4 and very good opposition and Collingwood who on their day are as good as anyone and Port who we beat easily. Thats just where we are at. Were not as good as the top sides but better than the sides below us. Im happy with that

yep, same here good to know that we aren't in that bottom seed of teams.

Gotta remember we were extremely unlucky against Freo over in Perth as well.  If we had snagged that one we would be 10 and 3 and in the top 4 already.  We simply must beat North and GC though.  No excuses anymore.  Everyone knows the footy we can play now, so losing even one of those games is going to put us in the spotlight.  If we win both of them I would fancy our chances against Freo at the G.  From there it's a tough two games against the two best sides from last season, but we destroyed them both last year so you never know.  For once our destiny is in our own hands and we aren't relying on teams to lose.  If we keep winning it's putting pressure on everyone below us and even the teams above us too.  Still a very long way to go, but I'm struggling to keep a lid on my excitement for the first time since 2001.
