My Chumps

Thought it was out; definitely a noise as it went past his bat.

Ah well, we fought hard and nearly got the victory. Considering that going into the series I was expecting a fair old flogging I was pretty impressed! Takes the heat off some seriously bad performances by most of the top order though.

Watson was unlucky to get out in the second innings, but my god, he really has to start converting some of those starts to big scores  :-\

Rogers looked good and too was unlucky in the first innings. Smart bowling by Jimmy got him in the second but I like the looks of him.

Cowan ----> Khawaja is definitely the right idea though for the second test.

Won't comment on all the other sh*t in this thread though; yall should know my stance. Come on guys, lets talk Cricket ;)

Australia didn't get the short straw. They failed cause Michael Clarke doesn't know a genuine chance at a wicket from his a***hole.

In other words, We lost because Michael Clarke is a knob

See BP is someone who actually knows what's going on!  ;D

I have a couple of issues with the way DRS works in England compared with Australia.

In Australia if the ball is deemed hitting the wicket after pitching correctly for LBW it is out.  In England we see that more than half the ball has to hit the stumps to overturn the umpires call. Australia were on the receiving end twice when they were given out correctly imo but England benefited twice when their batsmen were given not out initially and decision could not be overturned because less than half the ball was hitting the stumps. Rule should be the same if the ball is hitting the stumps should be out regardless. Surprisingly very little has been said about this and yet to me it is a fault of DRS in England.

Regarding clarke he wasted the DRS and as such has only himself to blame.  Heard the interview with Cook and he said it is a team rule not to use DRS immediately but to wait a few seconds to allow for a review after initial emotion has settled down.   This would have saved 2 DRS if delay ocurred. Hopefully Clarke has learned from Cook but then maybe he is to arrogant to.

No the way that DRS works for LBW is the same all around the world. The rule was changed very recently though, think it was before last summer, so we have had one season with the new rule. I don't really like it, it should be more like only a third of the ball needs to hit for a red light. IMO if it is going on to hit the stumps, then it is going to hit the stumps and is out. If DRS gives us a better view than the umpire, then shouldn't we go with its ruling?

You know the decisions were suss when the bookies are refunding!

I see they conveniently removed the white dot on the bat where the ball hit it...

So the only time that the side on hot spots works is for the last wicket of the game

Jay

The one thing we can take out if this game is that Aleem Dar is a showerty umpire.

I doubt they'd go for England if Australia were favourites,

+1!

And Jayman and JBs, bring on the Adelaide test!!
Keen as mate! Ohh Stuart Broad is gonna cop so much shower ;D

Erasmus is worse

if Erasmus not made a mistake with the Agar stumping when he was on 6 he would have been out and the game would not have been a contest

37.3
Swann to Agar, no run, big appeal here, first for caught behind, which is turned down, and then for a stumping as the ball turns past Agar's bat. The third umpire, Marais Erasmus takes a very long time over this one.

Agar dragged his foot out of the crease but it's one of those ones where at the point the bails came off, it was hard to be sure if any of Agar's foot was grounded behind the line.

JBs-Hawks

Do you dare question Agars innings you Un-australian cow.

roo boys!

Agar's was completely 100% inconclusive...don't see how you can give benefit to the bowler in that situation????

Absolute line ball call, as always should go to the batsman in that sitaution

Cicjose

on the line is out simple as that

Yes, but couldn't tell from the image/shadow of Agar's boot if anything was behind the line

pause 11 seconds in

clearly shows his foot was not behind the line

Maybe he was out, maybe he wasn't. Both teams had calls go the wrong way, but the test match is over now, so move on.

Cicjose

i have.......

since i'm expecting England to win the series
