Its not for anyone to past judgement but this has been hanging over his head, some would say unfairly, for a long time.

I guess justice will take its course.

does this end his career if judgement goes against him?

Ziplock

yes.... because he'll go to jail for like a decade, and he's already 33, so he won't be able to play by the time he gets out...

These matters take awhile.

I suspect by the time any judgement occurs he will already be retired, regardless on the verdict.

l wonder if they'll sack him? Personally l dont think they will, but they have set a precedent. Andrew Lovett was sacked a day after he was charged with rape

Nige

Does anyone think he'll retire at the end of the season?

I'd be more worried about his life rather than his football career.

Rot in hell if guilty.

My deep sympathy if innocent

But if guilty, what about what the girl has gone through for 9 years?

Harsh, but his career might be finished now. Unfair until proven guilty, but he isn't part of the saints future and the saints have a terrible record with these incidents, so I think he'll be sacked

Okay

Sexual assault is a class 2 felony and a person convicted of it is not eligible for suspension of sentence, probation, pardon or release until the full sentence is served

If the victim of a sexual assault or rape is under fifteen years of age, then it is called a 'dangerous crime against children' and it carries more severe penalties (which i assume she was under 15 years of age by then)

On the first offense of sexual assault, there is a Minimum prison sentence of 5.25 years with a maximum or 14 years. On the second offense, the minimum term is 7 years and the maximum is 21 years. And on the third, the minimum is 14 years with a maximum of 28 years.

why has it taken 9 years to charge him?

Wouldn't be surprized if he was sacked, Gram was last year.

This is what i am struggling to understand as well both he and Montanga was arrested a few years but was given the all clear and now 9 years later they are charged.

If Milne is found guilty i hope he goes to jail though if he doesnt that is a joke. The girl was only 10 years old when it happened.

You have that wrong, she was 19 at the time.

I wonder if charges against Montagna will be far behind...

The initial investigation was compromised and officers intimidated, the 2 investigating officers ended up resigning because of this and then one of them became a whisteblower. lt was then investigated by the Office of Police Integrity and they found serious flaws in the initial investigation. It was decided that it should be put in the hands of the Sexual Assualt Unit again, it was and charges have now been laid.
