So i'm trying to structure my team around remaining byes and to be fully fit and firing by Rd 15/16. What do you think about my current team, planned trades and expected Rd15/16 team?

Current Team:
Goddard, Heppel, Hanley, Hartlet, Ellis, Goodes (Staker & Thurlow)
Swan, Ablett, Pendles, Stanton, Watson, Stevie J, Bartel, Omeara (Evans & Lonergan)
Roughead,  Cox (Nicholls & Blicavs)
Rocky, Martin, Cloke, Buddy, JJK, Caffer (Bennedy & Rowe)

Trades:
Rd12 Lonergan/JOM>Cotchin/Barlow
Rd13 Stanton/Rowe>Jack/TMitchell (Watson/Stanton/Pendles depending on BE)
Rd14 JJK/Evans>Gibbs/Birchal
Rd15 Caffer/Bennedy> Stanton/Roo (Stanton/Beams/Boyd)

Rd15 Team:
Goddard, Heppel, Gibbs, Hanley, Birchal, Hartlet (Ellis & Thurlow)
Swan, Ablett, Pendles, Stanton/Beams, Jack, Watson, Cotchin, Barlow (TMitchel & Goodes)
Roughead,  Cox (Nicholls & Blicavs)
Rocky, Martin, Roo, Bartel, Stevie J, Cloke (Buddy & Staker)

I went Boyd over Cotchin in the end, very happy with that one, my team is now:

Goddard, Heppel, Hanley, Hartlet, Ellis, Goodes (Staker & Thurlow)
Swan, Ablett, Pendles, Stanton, Watson, Stevie J, Boyd, Boyd (Evans & Bennedy)
Roughead,  Cox (Nicholls & Blicavs)
Rocky, Martin, Cloke, Buddy, JJK, Bartel (Caffer & Rowe)

I am tossing up whether to go Stanton or Watson/Caffer>Jack/TMitchell

Or go Caffer>Mitchel & Thurlow>Ibbots

Any thoughts?

I'd do option b I don't love the sideways trade! Especially as inbox is playing at patersons playground!but I'd be tempted to oust Evans this week if thurlow is named as he will likely drop in cash and hasn't really hit big scores lately! So if go caff to Mitchell and Evans to ibbo. Leaving you with an extra 50 k before ousting thurlow for Gibbs next week

Thanks Disco, apparently Evans will be rested so my decision is somewhat made in that regard.

I'm now thinking Caffer>Mitchel & Evans>Jack

Should of said i have a serious bank account... this leaves me with $216,100

Next round can go Goodes>Gibbs (Buddy Bench) or JJK>Gibbs (Goodes Bench)

disco1992

I know this is the future but I'd rather have buddy/JJK as F7 as there's always that chance of bartel/SJ being rested!

Ended up trading Evans to Mitchel and Caffer to Griffen. Was a successful trade I think.

Thanks just outside the top 200 now but gonna need some massive luck to catch he front runner. 650 points not even sure if that's possible.

My team is now looking quite strong on paper and after I bring in Gibbs for Rowe wil be:

God, Gibs, Hep, Hart, Hanley, Ellis (Goodes, Thurlow)
GAJ, Swan, Pendles, Boyd, Griffen, Stanton, Watson, Barlow (Titchel, Bennedy)
Rough, Cox (Blicavs, Nichols)
SJ, Bartel, Dusty, Cloke, JJK, Rocky (Buddy, Staker)

So what to do with my Second trade now?

I suppose if Barlow is out a straight swap for k.jack or ROK could b on the cards or pop SJ in the Mids and bring Stokes into the Fwds

If Barlow is ok, my weakest line is prob def I think goodes to Ibbots and sit Hanley on the pine???

disco1992

Man our teams are in a very similar position both trade and rank wise haha

I think you have summed up your trades perfectly! It's hard with backs this year because I think the only 3 certain starters each week are GOd, GIbbs and hepp as any of ellis, hanley and hart can have a shocker! so i'd even consider the back trade first as Mitchell as cover isn't the worst for a week or 2

rider

True who would you play out of mitchel or buddy? As I can swing SJ into mids.

disco1992

I'd say Mitchell but i'd be nervous leaving buddy on the pine

Similar situation between Mitchell and zorko!

disco1992

BTW of all the teams Ive seen at this stage yours looks by far the best on paper! have you done any sideways trades this season?

rider

Thanks disco, on paper it's great problem is guys like Hanley and Rocky can be outperformed by rookies.

Apart from some early corrector trades like robinson and zorko and trading Ablett out for a couple of price drops. I have been steadily culling cash cows and upgrading. Didn't end up doing any sideways over the bye rounds either.
