Carlisle to go forward and Hurley back?

Funny how Hurley, who everyone Essendon fan had (and still has) such hopes for, is getting shown up at both ends by a younger player who sort of just came out of nowhere :P
He didn't come out of no where, we've been going nuts about him for 3 years.. :))

Except for you and Boomzie AFEV :P

Thought he showed signs. Needs to gain a shower load of weight. Can't take much out of his goal kicking as he was clearly nervous as flower and missing the first one made it worse on the next one which was a harder shot. Won't be surprised if he's given one more week & then back to VFL for the rest of the year barring injuries.

Carlisle is a beast, always has been. Originally wanted him forward as his marking skills are out of this world & he is much more natural as a forward compared to Hurley... BUT... He is a beast down back as well :( Idk. Him and Hurley are good for playing on different types so it could work just switching them on match ups but that isn't going to do much for their form if it becomes permanent & better to be more settled team wise as well. Hurley is clearly more natural as a defender & whenever he starts to show glimpses up forward he gets injured so should just put him down back. Either way Carlisle + Joe up forward in 2-3 years would be flowering scary marking wise :> We just need to learn to deliver it forward better. Gumby still around as well...

Might not be for too much longer.

It's evident Hurley is never going to perform highly on a consistent basis as a forward. He has the ability to switch forward and be dangerous, and although that's a nice asset he just doesn't look like a power forward.

Carlisle...Who knows. Lets hope we don't let the form of others dictate his role like we have with Hurley. If he and Michael both end up down back then so be it.

Ryder, Gumbleton, Bellchambers, Crameri and Daniher is still more talent than the majority of AFL lists boast, and can form a potent forward line.

Daniher, Gumbleton, Crameri forward.
Carlisle, Hurley, Hooker down back.

Carlisle, Hurley, Daniher, Crameri all extremely agile so I don't think it's really too slow. Crameri has looked very sluggish as of late however.

Pears traded for whatever we can get for him...

Can't help but feel that one of Crameri/Gumbleton will leave the club at the end of the season though. Dunno why.

His wrist has been broken for months. It is definitely something you can play through, have done it myself.

I heard he had like a minor broken bone in his wrist but he can play with it, as Sid said and he's having surgery in the off season.
