Possible loophole for the byes

Been thinking about a possible loophole for the byes

If you have 3 rucks playing in any week, you could put 1 who you think is going to score the highest on the field, a non-playing ruck on the field, and then have both other playing rucks on the bench, with both being emergencies.

From the way I read the rules, the either of the rucks on the bench score enough to be in the top 18 overall, then their score would count.

Rule as stated on DT website:

"If you have further available players in any position during these multi-bye rounds, you may set Emergencies for those positions as usual. Emergencies will continue to replace non-starting players in your Starting 22 with the usual rules, in the same position (including any 'bye' player that you may have left in your Starting 22) and their score will only count if it is in your Best 18."

Does anybody else think this would work??

There is another rule that only uses your lowest emg score if you have 2 emergencies for the same position.

I think it will take the lowest emg score first, and then if that score is in your best 18, it will play.

That's just my interperetation of it.

Yeh i think the "lowest emergency of the two" rule would apply first as the "best 18" rule is the best 18 players on your field.

Have you tried to contact anyone to clarify??? Might be a good idea.

now that Blicavs is out, I don't need to worry about it - would be interesting to know if anyone is prepared to give it a go though.

That's exactly what would happen. You'll definitely get your lowest emergency score, so you're better off trying to guess who will score higher and playing them on field.
