Anyone else getting Ferguson in?

This might sound crazy considering his first game, but getting this guy in defence will surely help a lot of people.
There's not a lot of very cheap defensive rookies around with great job security to downgrade.
And with the likes of Terlich having peaked, we could be losing cash off him (unless we choose to upgrade)..But considering the defenders at the top tier, I feel like cashing in Terlich and upgrading elsewhere for more points.

Most of us have Docherty and Thurlow on the bench in defence and both have OK job security..Most have also finished our forward line and have Staker sitting on the pine there, scoring points that don't count

Im just thinking Terlich > Ferguson not only makes a whole heap of cash, but it allows Staker to shift into a D7 (Or D6 if Docherty or Thurlow are sub/ommitted/injured, or any other fielded defender for that matter), and then back to the forward line that is mostly premium-studded if he's ever needed.

His bye round is also next week (R12), where not many of us have defenders out (or is that just me?) so we can afford to bring him in if cash is needed..and I would think Ferguson, despite a horror first game, has better JS than any other rookie sub 120k thats fwd/def.

Thoughts?

What makes you think Ferguson has good JS? He was terrible on the weekend and way out of his depth.

Not sure about either Thurlow or Docherty having "ok" js either. I would say they have poor js considering they have played 3 and 4 games respectively of a possible 10.

During the bye's you just need anyone that is playing so I would only trade out a rookie if it is to avoid a donut. A good rookie like terlich is gold during the byes, atleast for round 11 anyway.

Really depends on your team and what you need/how close you are to a complete side

No chance. The kid was subbed off at HT because he was that far out of his depth in his first game. He is likely to play a few more games at VFL level before getting another call up

I'm tempted, not gonna lie. Same as you, I reckon I'm gonna trade Terlich out this week and not a lot of downgrade options. His D/F is really tempting, even if he is dropped which I'm expecting he can sit at D8 all year and swap with Staker if required.

disco1992

or adam oxley who just got promoted off the rookie list and is base price?

I was trying to say his JS won't matter with the Staker switch..

at this stage ... i dont see myself trading terlich all year ... he is more than adequate cover on the pine with the ball always being in defense .. i especially wouldnt be trading him for a goat like fergie

.... if u are gonna trade terlich  ... surely the better option would be to sub staker to defense and get in someone like joey daniher in the forwards ... that way staker will provide adequate cover in defense and joey should be sound on the pine along with macaffer .... if u have luxury trades then improve the players on the field not the pine

Alright fellas, preferably would go Oxley but need to know if he's playing on Monday first, other options to downgrade Terlich, Ugle, Wilson..?
