Round #11:  7th June 2013

Favourites in BOLD

(5th) BEARS (1500) v (1539) HEAD HUNTERS (4th)

(3rd) LAMBS (1743) v (1577) GAZELLES (6th)

(8th) DONGS (1063) v (1846) ALES (10th)

(15th) VIPERS (1525) v (1383) ESKIMOS (16th)

(1st) DOLPHINS (1798) v (1554) LLAMAS (14th)

(11th) ELEPHANTS (1417) v (1693) CRABS (12th)

(9th) TIGERS (1574) v (1339) CROCODILES (13th)

(2nd) FOLDERS (1859) v (1753) STRIKERS (7th)

Clearly the most even matches of the season so far, with teams in similar positions on the ladder playing each other in almost every game.

Game of the week has to be the top two teams on the ladder ( Vipers v Eskimo's )  should be a cracker - oh hang on I'm holding my ladder upside down.....

I'll call game of the week - Bears V Head Hunters.

Notes on Favourites:  Dongs Elephants Folders and Tigers are all favourites in their games but JUST - their lists are decimated by the round 11 bye and even with HGA they will have to have a lot go right to get up.

Sorry Colli, but how are the Head Hunters favourites over us? Yes we have a depleted midfield this week with Boyd, Mitchell, Fyfe, Moloney and Cross all missing, which is pretty significant, but the rest of our side is pretty much normal bar Gwilt instead of Waters. We also have HGA.

They have Rockliff, the in-form Ibbotson, de Boer and Burgoyne out. Oh and they don't have a ruckmen with Clarke out as well.

No disrespect to mons, PNG have been great this year, but don't understand this tbh.

I based it purely on the number and quality of players missing from your side last week this week

YOU =  Mitchell (C) Duffied , Murphy , Staker , Fyfe , Moloney , Boyd , Cross.

that is 5 premium mids, 2 premium defenders and a solid defender in staker....

pretty significant i would have thought. who will your captain and vice captains be this week?

head hunters can captain A Swallow , heppell or ward.... and have lesser players missing than you do...

it could be you have the depth to get over the line, but with so many out you also score less and your HGA will be less....

I may well be wrong but I had to pick one and while on a normal week you would be the clear favourite i am not so sure this week...

it is not personal :)

Colliwobblers

looking at the eskimos line up this week i am not sure i should be favourite either....

i will re asses the favourites once both teams from each game have been posted, hard to rate the games without seeing who comes in, i have only looked at who goes out from last weeks teams.

shower, forgot Duffield was out this week. :( But still, out of those players you mentioned, only Mtchell, Duffield, Fyfe, Moloney, Boyd and Cross are in my best 15. Staker and Bob Murph are solid, but only played due to injuries to Waters and someone else... they are not best 15 material. Mitchell isn't our first choice for the captaincy either, he's like 3rd in line.

As for captains this week, I've still got Jelwood (whose been shower lately, but he'll bounce back) and Nick Riewoldt who is the 4th highest averaging player in the whole comp. However, I'm going Jelwood (C) and Mitch Robinson (VC) at this stage. Robbo has been in great form the last 5 weeks and has Essendon on Friday who he has a great record against.

NRoo could still very well end up as Vice or even Captain this week. Can see him kicking a bag against an under performing West Coast side.

But yeah, fair enough. Our outs are pretty huge, particularly the midfield with 5 of out top 6 mids gone. :o

Colliwobblers

you make a good case, i will look at both teams when posted, but i think with those two in C and VC at home you may have reclaimed favouritism.

must be nice to have "depth"

Obviously we care, it's our team and we have the right to voice our opinion.

nostradamus

lts a shame we play at all ove the byes at all, just by the nature of our teams it comes down to luck as to how many players you have out

Ricochet

lol this is going to be an interesting weekend for the Crocs. I think I'll have about 10 boys playing this week
