Stanton is a fantastic player until he gets tagged , the only player that can cop a hard tag and score well is Gaz then Pendles and Watson and Swan , yet I have read a lot of negative stuff about Gaz early in the year , these people have gone missing of late ?

I can see why a lot of people are scared to bring him in given his end to last year, but I don't see any risk involved at his current price.

However, if I do bring him in it means I miss out on Kyle Martin all together (can't afford to bring in two round 13 players!).

Stanton is a fantastic player until he gets tagged , the only player that can cop a hard tag and score well is Gaz then Pendles and Watson and Swan , yet I have read a lot of negative stuff about Gaz early in the year , these people have gone missing of late ?

Only players that deal with a tag are gary and swan! pendles gets tagged to 90s which isnt bad, but watson gets tagged quite easily dt-wise GWS(54), Freo(65) and tonight (77), only really broke the foley tag by kicking a small bag.

and Agree with the second part, no one is talking negative about gary anymore! he is clearly #1

Didn't think he'd cop that hard a tag this year because his disposal isn't always too good but he was destroyed tonight. Hope teams don't start doing that more regularly now. :-X

It's only one blemish on a pretty good record so far this year, but time will tell whether he gets into  a trend of shower scores.

I was never going to bring him in this week, I had plans to bring him in after the bye.  I was scared I'd be paying absolute full price for him, but now I'm pretty happy with myself.  Would love him to spud it up again next week too!

I agree but pendles is a gun probably thinking more SC than DT with him and Watson seems to be a bit hit and miss at the moment but I think you have to have these guys in your team from now on , as for stanton I think I might leave him to the chap that put money on it

100% agree most competitive teams would have gary, swan, pendles in their mids already and watson is in my side looking at barlow/jack before stanton maybe give stanton a couple more to see how he plays before bringing him in

Some people make me crook, yes I for one wasn't happy with his performance, but those saying ''Glad I didn't get him'' or ''Why did I pick him'' are being greedy and ridiculous. He's an absolute gun and like has been discussed in is thread not many people can handle tags except for the Pig and Gaz. He's just busted out back to back 140s and got tagged tonight, he won't get much cheaper and has GC next week. By the end of the year most people bagging him in this thread will end up getting him in anyway....

100% agree! It's a similar situation to Deledio, birchall, Hanley and Hartlett, he can be so damaging with his possession that clubs tag them. Although I would expect Stanton to be able to get some tackle points if his uncontested footy is being dried up ( if he could turn that tagged 52 into a 75-85 you would take that as long as it isn't week in week out!)

Ill probably get on him just don't want to pay big money like I did last year only to have him sitting on the bench with Sam Gibson ahead of him!
