1529 all up. Could've gone a lot higher. Whitfield, Morris, Shiel & Hill were big let downs.  :-\
I have this adding up to 1477

Adds up to 1,529 using a calculator with the scores he has provided from what I could figure out.

Just worked out the problem he has 5 forwards named not 4 I have been missing Blacks score. so take that off,

Points deducted for adding up wrong? Would be harsh if you lost because of this

Round 11 (Split Round) has now been completed.

There was some confusion amongst coaches about naming players for the split round and I had to apply the rules as set.  Even if a player did not play in Round 11 but his team did he was not eligible to be subbed in.  Players could only come from the Bye listed players.

The Round threw up some interesting results with the defeat of the Top Team Hoods, Grope Lane Giants recording their highest score of the season which would have defeated most teams but unfortunately they were playing the resurgent Badgers.  The Table now sees 5 teams on 32 points following the Hoods defeat with a further 4 teams on 24 points so will be a tight race for the Minor Premiership and places in the eight after the bye this week for the North South Challenge.

Bradford Badgers 26.18.174 defeated Grope Lane Giants 24.17.161
This was a very high class game with the Giants putting together their best performance of the year really taking it to the Badgers who were intent on gaining a place in the 8. The performance of the Giants was really not a bottom team performance and showed the effect of injuries on this team. The Badgers mid field led by Griffen, Barlow and Prestia urged on by their Home Crowd gradually wore the Giants done and overcome the resistance. Any team facing the Giants in the last rounds can not count on an automatic victory,
Best Players:
Badgers: Barlow, Prestia, Trent McKenzie, Mzungu. Griffen
Giants: O'Shea, Ibbotson, Brad Ebert, McLean

Oxford Owls 22.16.148 defeated Bilston Bunnies 22.13.145
Late changes: Dustin Fletcher replaced Matthew Jaensch for the Owls.
In a game that was very close all day the Owls urged on by their strong home crowd just got home over the Bunnies who fought to the last minute. There was very little separating these 2 teams all day with the lead changing numerous times and both going goal for goal through out the afternoon.  Not surprisingly the midfields of both teams put in strong performances in an endeavour to get the ball forward to their forwards.
Best Players:
Owls: Kelly, Murphy, DalSanto, Thompson
Bunnies: Douglas, Carlisle, Ryder, Corey

Hastings Hurricanes 30.14.194 defeated Leeds Leeches 22.12.144
The Hurricanes in a very dominant performance accounted for the leeches comfortably.  The Hurricanes introduced their new recruit Tom Mitchell to the Team and were rewarded with a best on ground performance setting up their strong win.  The Hurricanes midfield was outstanding taking advantage of the ruck work of Giles and with Goddard and Harbrow controlling the back half the Leeches attack was kept under control. The Hurricanes had a number of outstanding performers so picking best players was going to be difficult.
Best Players
Hurricanes: Tom Mitchell, Cornes, Mundy,Giles
Leeches: Delidio, Waite, Johnson, Foley

Swansea Breakers 24.15.159 defeated Manchester Magic 22.16.148
Late changes: Eddie Betts replaced Josh J Kennedy for the Breakers.
Despite some players performing below par the Breakers were able to conjure a win over the luckless Magic. The difference between the 2 teams was the ruck Work of Naitanui who easily outpointed Trent West on the day.  This gave the Breakers mid field first use of the ball but their inefficiency in getting the ball into the forward line allowed the magic to stay in the game. The Breakers forwards were very disappointing and if they are to be a serious finals contender need to lift to give the midfield strong options forward.
Best Players;
Breakers: Swan, Montagna, Naitanui, Golby
Magic: Sloane. Liberatore, Ellis, Ward

Liverpool Lobsters 22.12.144 defeated Swindon Swaggers 20.12.132
Late Changes: Josh Saunders replaced Dan Nicholson, Jacob Townsend replaced Harley Bennell and Marley Williams replaced Michael Walters for the Lobsters. 1/4 points applied as they were outside the named players and chosen on priority.
In somewhat of a surprise result the Lobsters accounted for the Swaggers.  Given their recent improved form the Swaggers were expected to account for the Lobsters but the Lobsters had other ideas recording their 2nd win of the season. The Swaggers were put on the back foot with a very sub standard performance from Captain Shane Mumford who was clearly outpointed by Todd Goldstein. As a result of this the Lobsters were able to get the ball forward quickly allowing their forwards to put scoreboard pressure on the Swaggers.
Best Players:
Lobsters: Treloar, Heppell, Goldstein, Pearce
Swaggers: Birchill, Lynch, Rockliff

Winchester Werewolves 24.16.160 defeated Nottingham Hoods 22.13.145
Late Changes Nick Lower replaced Courtney Dempsey for the Hoods.
In this much anticipated clash of the round the Werewolves were much too strong for the Hoods.  In somewhat of a surprise the Werewolves midfielders on top of the more fancied midfield of the Hoods.  Luke Ball played his best game since returning from injury for the Werewolves but he was well supported by Cunnington, Gibson, Fyfe and Priddis who more than Matched Ablett, Pendlebury, Masten, Roas and Hodge. Gibbs and Vlastuin were able to repel attacks of the Hoods. The Werewolves are starting to find form at the right time and should be there at the business end of the season. For the Hoods some soul searching needs to be done  especially in defence as they Werewolves were allowed too many possessions in the forawrd 50.
Best Players:
Werewolves: Ball, Cunnington, Gibbs, Priddis.
Hoods: Ablett, Pendlebury, Walker. Masten.

Huddersfield Hawks 24.11.155 defeated Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs 23.14.152
Late Changes Luke Tapscott replaced Jarrad Reddan for the Hedgehogs and Koby Stevens replaces Kyle Cheney for the Hawks.
Yet another close loss for the Hedgehogs which hopefully does not come back to haunt them in the finals race. The Hedgehogs were on the back foot when they were unable to name a ruckman for the game. This was another game that could have gone either way with both teams strong through the midfield but the disposal efficiencies were well down on what would be expected.  Both teams were at fault here and this contributed to the closeness of the game. With Sylvia kicking a goal on the final siren Hawks achieved the hard fought win.
Best Players:
Hawks:  Wingard, Mitchell, Armitage, Josh P Kennedy
Hedgehogs: Scott Selwood, Parker Martin, Dannyle Pearce

Staines Steins 25.13.163 defeated Crosby Cruisers 22.13.145
Late Changes Rhys Stanley replaced Jamie Elliott and Tim Mohr replaced Marty Clarke for the Steins.
In their best performance of the Season the Steins comfortably defeated the Cruisers who were disappointing following their recent strong performances. The Steins midfield led by Kieran Jack were able to take advantage of the Ruckwork of Maric and as a result were able to control the game cruising to the comfortable victory,
Best Players:
Steins: Jack, O'Keeffe, Maric, Judd
Cruisers: Boyd, Boak, Johnson, McVeigh

Birmingham Bombers 26.16.172 defeated Newcastle Falcons 25.13.163
Late changes: Jason Porplyzia replaced Daniel Cross for the Falcons.
In a high class game as would be expected from 2 top 8 teams the Bombers defeated the Falcons causing them to slide further down the ladder. The difference between the two teams were the performance of the Captains, In a welcome return to form the Bombers captain Marc Murphy completely outplayed his opposite Jobe Watson.  With Murphy dominating the midfield the Bombers Forwards enjoyed the service and with Cox and Scultz presenting well were able to maintain scoreboard pressure.
Best Players:
Bombers: Murphy. Vince, Wells, Hartlett
Falcons: Hannerbery, Selwood, Stokes, Christensen.

Table will be updated shortly.

No fixtures this week due to North South challenge.

:( Very upset at that loss. Well done Liverpool

Great as always Ringo

Nails

Score big enough to beat 13 teams when we were away

would've been able to beat like another 2 teams if we were the home team against them.

Giants not a spoon team so watch out when we actually have more than 2 of our best XV on the park.
