because the supporters don't have a say in contracts. Ross also knew where the club was heading, due to terrible drafting, so either way he wanted to get out of there

well if he had have drafted better, and not pick up duds like Polo, Gamble and the like, we may have been able to continue our dominance and win a flag.

he is an incredible match day coach, no question, his list development skills however (at the Saints at least) left alot to be desired

Soooooo he alone selected the recruits!!!!!I think not.

Time to give props and eat humble pie ... when Freo hierarchy 'knifed' Harvey in the back i thought it was pretty poor form (though i understood their decision cos they had had enough of being middle of the road, making the finals but going out early each time), however to win sometimes you have to be ruthless and Lyon's system seems to be working for the Dockers atm ...  ;)

Not sure Harvey was knifed as you say.He was dismissed in a way that stopped the whole of the country from knowing until it happened. That move was the beginning of a new football club.We had become ruthless just like all others.
It was strange that a couple of days later a soccer club did exactly the same thing to their coach and got accolades for it.
They could not tell Harvey or any one else what was happening because it would have become known all over.
The press both over east and here in WA are still showerty on Fremantle for getting away with the move of Lyon to us.They felt cheated.what ever happened to that club that used to leak like a sieve!!!
We through the actions of Harris and Rosich and Co are a football club, and a football team right now.

Depends which "fan" you talk to.  Go check my history, I was very excited when we got Ross Lyon (AKA Ross The Boss).  The move to get him was fantastic
