Kane Cornes

Like many want to get a round 11 premium mid in for a round 12 mid rook (evans). I always planned to get cotchin back in that week but based on current form will go barlow instead. May end up getting cotch anyway if his form improves. I'm not convinced by cornes, reckon as port continue to lose games his scores will drop. I'd have barlow and cotchin ahead of him as round 11 bye mid premos.

Yeah I rate Cotchin as the Rockliff of 2013... and Kane Cornes is the Boyd or Pendlebury (if he doesn't lift) of 2013

Yeah they're not happy with him. Saw an article saying that if he's not tagging then he shouldn't be in the team. Wouldn't touch him with a 10 foot pole.

Yeah i did the exact same and thats all i could find. Hinkley saying that is Kornes can stay fit he could get to 300. Im assuming he isnt going to be dropped haha

Hinkley was interviewed on "On The Couch" on Foxfooty and he was full of praise for cornes and how important he was for the team and how important his experience and leadership on field is. Rumours he is on the outer are just bullshower.

It was Riccuitio rating port players who made the comment about him not being in the team if he cant tag. He based this on him not being damaging at all with his possessions (completely true, forever known as the old backwards chip specialist).

This had zero link to any port person who would have any influence, just an outside observation.

I still cant be sold on cornes.

Ill be bringing in a premo mid next week.

Cornes should be at the front of my thinking but hasnt been, instead the more expensive Barlow seems an obvious preference.

Cotchin still has $$ to lose (or at least wont shoot up) so id want to see more before purchasing him

Yeah and as much as the Roo was a good player his skills in the media are quite average in my opinion. I am still very torn on wether to get cornes or not but i gather if it backfires we always have the trades. I badly want Stanton but my bye structure just doesnt permit it.

but the roo was very damagine, Cornes kicks 30m if he gets onto it and with his 25 touches his net metres gained/lost would struggle to break even he kicks backwards so much.

Despite that, this style is what makes him an effective dreamteamer worthy of this discussion

Cornes has always been a good DT'er, he isn't a half season stunner.

I'd be looking at him with a lot of confidence. 10 games with 8 tons, a 99 & one sub 80 score is very hard to manage unlesss your elite.

He's averaging 100+ in multiple seasons as well. I think one year he average 107! I'll probably complete my midfield with either him or Redden this season, Barlow and Jack still have a good shot but their price tags are too high so they are currently 3rd and 4th preference :)

Cornes has tonned 8/10+ a 99 and is under 500K? That is a bargain, compare that to Barlow...535K 6/10 tons.
