It's happened again!

PaddyCakes had a goal overturned yesterday coz of the review. Crows supporters shut up it didn't cost you the match, he kicked the next goal anyway. But the way the umps went about the decision again is questionable. Goal umpire says 100% goal, boundary ump says 100% point, this should go upstairs and if/when inconclusive it should come back a goal, as that's what the goal ump said.

I say it hit the post, but that is irrelevant coz the process is what needs addressing.

I didn't see it but this has happened before. For some reason Umpires call is the boundary umpire? Their called a goal umpire for a reason, we should go with their decision unless its a dispute between a point and an out of bounds on the full.

I disagree on it not costing us the match, because Paddy should have been in the guts which cost us the match :o

Yep I agree. It probably hit the post, but the process didn't work.

My understanding was that the review was brought in to overturn clearly incorrect decisions. Howlers that can quickly be put right just by having a look at the video.

I'm in favour of the original decision standing when the video is inconclusive, which I assumed was what was supposed to happen, and clearly didn't last night. In my opinion it should have been given a goal in line with the goal umpire's original call.

What was also odd was that the boundary umpire said he'd "heard" it hit the post...  :o

what's the use of having it if it always comes back as "inconclusive"

the ball hit the post 100%, also in the Suns vs Cats game. the guy (can't remember who) pushed it through for a point, and it comes back as "inconclusive".

who the flower sits up there making the decision? if he gets a pay check each week then it's a disgrace. he doesn't actually DO anything.

I didn't see it but it discourages players to pick the ball up amongst a pack cause they don't want broken fingers

But yeah I agree it didn't cost the Crows the match but the system is flawed... The footage is always so poor, it's just automatically gotta be "inconclusive". Get some more high-res cameras up, or forget about it IMO.

yeah, unfortunately, I agree. They need to up the quality and number of cameras- cant see shower with the way it is now.
