Sorry guys... :(
It's not your fault man, in the end we were the one's who decided to put the C on Stevie J and we all knew the risk it entailed. Your info on Stevie J was all correct and he should of went 120+ easily except he let us down :(

It's been said quite a lot that Stevie J smashes weaker teams... Perhaps GCS are not as weak a team as we assume...

Yeah they were neck and neck at 3qt on 64pts each. They are starting to become quite a solid side. It's a shame the same can't be said about the GWS  :P

Yeah... I'm losing a lot of games this weekend unless the Tiger boys all shine... I was going to lose a fair few regardless of captain, but some matchups (Stevie J vs. Ablett and Stevie J vs. Stanton) were potential deciders in some games. :(

all this week tells me is that history means nothing, and to lock a guy with 5/6 scores being over 130 (Ablett)

all this week tells me is that history means nothing, and to lock a guy with 5/6 scores being over 130 (Ablett)
But Stevie J was averaging higher than GAJ (120.8 vs. 120.2), had a higher lowest score (92 vs. 84), had scored over 140 twice (vs. GAJ's none), and was 3/6 for 135+ vs. Ablett 5/9 for 130+.
Basically, there was nothing to say that, by ignoring history and just looking at this year, Stevie J wouldn't score more than Ablett. All history did was separate the two instead of making it a coin flip. Unfortunately, history was wrong.

I don't want to sound like i'm gloating but just putting it out there. I captained sidebottom last year when he was in ripping form, also coming up against Gold Coast and then he spudded up, from that day on I have only ever captained Dedicated Midfielders, not FWD/MID's. Very happy with GAJ this week.
That's a pretty unfair assessment to make. If you're judging my Dream Team positions to say whether or not a player is a dedicated midfielder, you just have to look at Rockliff last year to realise how wrong that is. Stevie J is as much a dedicated mid as Ablett. One of them just happens to have forward status in Dream Team.

Yeah after that sidebottom rubbish I decided I wanted to make really sure stevie was the best option and wouldn't go sub 80. He has been playing pure midfield for the whole season and only gone below a hundred once (92 in his first game) so I thought he was a safe option. Sure ablett or swan would have been better but 94 is not awful.

haha If history meant nothing the fact Gaj had 5/6 of his past scores being over 130 would therefore be rendered irrelevant  :P

It's not unfair at all. You wouldn't have considered Rockliff last year,it's almost like your thinking that I would captain someone like Moloney over SJ just because he's only a MID, which isn't true. You've gotta keep it relevant. The forward status is there for a reason. It's a fact that midfield premiums are the most consistent high scorers and therefore better captain options.

The forward status is there because he played forward a bit last year. This year he's a pure midfielder despite what DT labels him as. Captain worthiness has nothing to do with DT position.

Ablett vs SJ vs Stanton vs Swan this week

Ablett - 5 of his last 6 over 130 (148 and 146 his last 2 vs North)
SJ - whales on the lesser teams (scored 146 on these in his only appearance)
Stanton - definate ceiling (149 last week, 175 vs these last year) but can also go very low
Swan - day game vs the dees, need i say more

not trying to take over LaHug here, but it'll be a tricky rating
i'm curious to see the number 1

I'll probably be doing my write up tonight. Pretty darn tempted to bring Stanton in this week but worried that Mick will target him.

Toga

Stanton comes in this week for me :D I'm not too worried about a tag because if you look at his SC scores they haven't been monstrous, suggests he isn't too damaging. But perfect DT slut. :P

Probably between Swanny and Ablett for me. But I look forward to LH's Captains!!
