Wow that's a fkn awesome team mate ! Well done :)

After luxuries you pretty much have 6 trades left.

What is your ranking ?

Thanks man. I'm only ranked about 7000 with the intention of winning my league from the start. I should try overall next year.

#17
Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Staker, Heppell, Shaw, Goodes (Hanley, Clisby)
Mids: Ablett, Pendles, Cotchin, JPK, Jelwood, Priddis, Swan, T.Mitchell (Watson, Colquhoun)
Rucks: Cox, Berger (Nicholls, Currie)
Fwds: Buddy, Rockliff, Kennedy, Roughead, Martin, Johnson (Zorko, Oxley)

Ideally I would like to only use one trade on Goodes for Ibbotson/Mckenzie but the next two league matches are against top teams who are all vying for a spot in the top four. If I lose the next two I could be pushed out of the top four by percentage. With this in mind I'm thinking of going...

Goodes > Henderson
Mitchell > Griffen

Would be better to go the second trade next week but I think it will get me over the line after looking at my opponents matchups. Will leave me with 6 trades but pretty much no money in the bank.

Should I? Or is there a better alternative?

Nice looking team Woofy.

If you were to slip to positions 5 or lower you still have the opportunity to make the finals but must win each match.  Will this be a worry to you if not I would hold on the Mitchell trade.  Mitchell has an achievable B/e and more than likely rise in value while Griffen has a high one this week and could fall to offset waiting.

I would trade Goodes to Mackenzie though if you can afford it as it will strengthen your defence.

woofy

Thanks for your opinion ringo.

Past years I've fallen short of making the finals even with a strong team when out of top four due to restings etc so ideally I'd feel more comfortable trying to get top four and win the first week finals.

If I get Mckenzie for Goodes this week I don't think I'll have enough to go Mitchell > Griffen with one trade next week. Even if I opt for Ibbotson instead of Mckenzie I think I'll fall short by a few thousand. It really depends what Mitchell and Griffen score this week.

Ringo

Another thought atm - How much cash do you have atm are you able to go Goodes to a Mid via Colq. Thinking Barlow or Fyfe may strengthen mids if you can afford. Would mean playing Clisby or Colq till Hanley returns.

In 2/3 weeks Nicholls should be maxed out allowing a downgrade to give you cash for upgrading Mitchell and Clisby/Colq,

ATM I have about $175k. I have thought about Goodes > Barlow via Colquhoun but then I would have to field Clisby instead of Mitchell in a close game. Being a dogs supporter it's killing me I don't have Griffen in my team also lol

Ringo

If that is the case just do the Goodes to Henderson trade and sit on Mitchell to Griffen next week, Think it is worth sitting given Griffens high B/e.

woofy

Thanks for the advice. ill be in a dilemma till the last second before lockout I'm sure.

A cheaper alternative to Griffen that has flown under the radar this year is Joey Montagna. He would provide decent bench coverage for when Watson is back, and since you are placed well with trades you could sideways Priddis to Griffen when his price drops. Montagna is sitting with an average of 108.80, 5 scores over 125 and is only 514k. He would be a very good POD going into finals since he can score big.

Montagna scored well again. Don't have the balls to pick him atm.

Scored just under 2400 this week and followed my gut with picking up Ricky Henderson over Ibbotson. Followed Ringos advice to keep Mitchell, wait on Griffens price to drop and with the win against my opponent I'm secured a top four finish in all my leagues. with 7 trades left should I be doing any trades this week?

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Staker, Heppell, Shaw, Henderson (Hanley, Clisby)
Mids: Ablett, Pendles, Cotchin, JPK, Jelwood, Priddis, Swan, T.Mitchell (Watson, Colquhoun)

7 trades with about $195k in the bank.

I was thinking Nicholls > Mcbean this week and then first week of finals Mitchell > Griffen and Zorko > Walker/Bartel

Thoughts?

Ringo

With 7 trades left and with Cox slowing down would be tempted to Go Nicholls to Goldstein or Minson to get one of the Top 2 rucks to go into finals.  You can rotate Berger or Cox as R3 and you have the option of bringing Roughie in for Cox as well.

With Zorko and Mitchell providing good bench cover you can sit even if it means losing first week in finals while Clisby or Colq fatten up to enable Mitchell upgrade, If Watson comes back in the next week or 2 I would be even sit on Mitchell as m9.  I would be tempted to keep Zorko on bench until you really have to upgrade to a super prem forward to win.

With 6 trades you will be in a strong position going into finals so make them work for you.,

Backs: Goddard, Gibbs, Hanley, Shaw, Heppell, Henderson (Staker, Prudden)
Mids: Ablett, Pendles, Cotchin, Watson, Jelwood, Grffen, Swan, JPK (Priddis, Colquhoun)
Rucks: Minson, Berger (Nicholls, Currie)
Fwds: Cox, Rockliff, Roughead, Martin, Johnson, JJK (Buddy, Oxley)

4 trades with about $70k in the bank.

I was thinking Henderson > Murphy/Hibberd but not sure what to do with my second trade. It really depends on if Heppell is good to go or not. If his out for one week I'm tempted to play Staker and downgrade Nicholls > McBean so I can do 2 massive upgrades next week if I make finals.

Thoughts?

Ringo

I would do Henderson to Bob Murphy. Like Murphy over Hibberd because Dogs play Brisbane at Gabba and then Melbourne in GF. If Heppell is also out for 2 weeks then I think you still have enough cash to go Heppell to Hibberd..

If Heppell is only confirmed for one week then Nicholls is out for the season so downgrade to McBean There is even talk of McBean getting a game or 2 following outstanding reserves games.
