Yeah I must agree that the rewards thing is just annoying. I don't really care if I get a purple name in chat or if I can get a tweet shout out, I just want it off my screen. How many points do I need for that feature?

It should in theory. By doing the quests and getting rewarded for visiting and navigating the site more often it generates more pageviews. Those increased pageviews potentially allow m0nty to charge more for advertising space or at the very least increase the likelihood of users clicking on the advertising banners.

Same deal with the incentives to share our quest and badge achievements on social media, this generates publicity and exposure aimed at driving more users to the site. More users = more hits = more potential advertising revenue.

I've gotten use to the little screen. What bugs me is that I can't finish current quests even if I go to the page/search for something. Never registers as it's done :(.

As Mr. Craig said, was used as a way to get more advertising for the site (with more page views, social media sharing, etc). I don't mind it as something different from other forums! Although an not interested in any rewards :P. It has come along same time as forum servers have been upgraded for the weekends (already done a few weeks ago when people complained and m0nty responded) :).

I'm having issues with being able to shut it down. Not really interested in gaining the rewards myself, but no problems with the concept. Close it down but it opens back up whenever I move to a new thread. Getting quite frustrating  :(

Can not get it all on the home PC so I am lucky.  Does come up on laptop though which I only use intermittently now.
