Spite

Ah Sorry Ringo you are correct, I just assumed we were the home team because we have had so little home ground matches. 3 home ground and 6 away (rivalry round doesn't count)

Matera got 91 in one half... Imagine if he played a full game :o

Imagine if Watts, Jroo and Duff played better, we would have got 2200 :o ::)

Playing half a game is different to spudding.

If Watts/Duff/Jroo didn't 'spu' we woulda got 2200.

That's correct.

Leeds Leeches

DEF: Michael Johnson (93), Nick Malceski (141), Tom Williams (36), Jarryn Geary (63)
MID: Brett Deledio (C) (288), Luke Shuey (VC) (134), Nathan Foley (111), Nathan Van Berlo (93)
RUC: Sam Jacobs (94)
FWD: Tom Hawkins (63), Jeremy Howe (91), Jarrad Waite (73), Mark LeCras (52)
INT: Rohan Bewick (Fwd) (29), Nathan Vardy (Ruck) (74)
EMG: Alex Silvagni (Def), Jason Winderlich (Mid/Fwd), Adam Schneider (Fwd)

Taking a bit of a punt with Vardy on the interchange, but I can't really do too much worse than I have in recent weeks, can I? Really hoping to bounce back with a win at home this week.

So that is a score of 1435 + 20 point bonus = Final score of 1455

Disappointed again, just cannot get good scores with so many injuries in the team now. Good thing byes are here so can take a bit of time off matches.

Still enough to get over the line BB and you have to add 29 points for HGA as well making your total 1484

Whoops I forgot I was at home. Thanks Ringo :)  Good to be back on the winners list again.

Round 10 Update

Round 10 threw up some interseting results and some very high scores and a couple of upsets.
Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs with 2026 points anihalated the previous highest score total. Shows what can be achieved when best Team is fielded and will make the final series interesting if they qualify. Couple of early close losses set them behind the pack.

There were also upsets with three of the joint leaders Breaker, Bombers and Falcons all having their colours lowered. This allowed the Hoods to move one win clear at the top of the table.

Ryan Griffen in an outstanding effort also crushed the former individual high score with 242 points,

Results:

Bradford Badgers 28.13.181 defeated Oxford Owls 22.16.148
Late changes Ashton Hams replaced by Tommy Walsh for the Owls.
Comfortable win for the Badgers who continue to climb back up the ladder following a couple of earlier disappointing results. With Will Minson dominating the ruck the Badgers midfield led by Ryan Griffin, Michael Barlow and Andrew Swallow were able to control the game. The Owls were not helped with a early injury to replacement player Tommy Walsh. Despite the lopsided scoreline the Owls midfield toiled valiantly.
Best Players:
Badgers: Griffen, Barlow, Prestia, Minson
Owls: Steven, Kelly, Thompson, Goodes

Hastings Hurricanes 26.16.172 defeated Grope Lane Giants 21.12.139
Late changes Sam Michael replaced Brad Dalziell for the Giants and Andrew Krakouer replaced Shannon Byrnes for the Hurricanes.
Hurricanes comfortably defeated the injury riddled Giants who were forced to play Rys Thomas and Tom Logan in the forwards and this appeared to unsettle the team structure. Despite the efforts of Danny Stanley and Cameron O'Sea in defence the Giants were unable to contain the flow of the ball from the midfield to the Hurricanes forwards led by Drew Petrie who had an outstanding game.
Best Players:
Hurricanes: Cornes, Petrie, Laird, Dangerfield
Giants: Ebert, Stanley, Wallis, McLean

Bilston Bunnies 24.16.160 defeated Swansea Breakers 23.17.155
Late changes Jarryd Lyons replaced Ben Howlett for the Bunnies.
In one of the upsets of the round the Bunnies defeated the Breakers. Following the turbulent start to the season by the Bunnies new coach Sydney Rox continues to impress with his development of the team. He ha sshown that a consistent effort by all team members can overcome some star stuudded teams. This was really evident this match when a lot of the Breaker players to be ataching and waiting for the superstars of Swan, Sidebottom and Goodes to do something without putting in the required effort themselves. Urged on by their strong home crowd the Bunnies held on for a well deserved win. Maybe this is the wakeup call the Breakers need.
Best Players:
Bunnies: Douglas, Corey, Smith, Adams
Breakers: Swan, Sidebottom, Garlett, Goodes

Leeds Leeches 22.16.148 defeated Swindon Swaggers 20.15.135
Unfortunately the Swaggers could not get two in a row, The Swaggers ere badly let down by the underperforming captain Liam Shiels and this undoubtedly cost them the game. Conversely the Leechs captain Deledio really lifted and was instrumental in getting the win. Despite the efforts  of Swaggers midfielder Simon Black who showed age has not diminshed his skills the Leechs midfield were able to get on top in the final quarter and control the game. The swaggers would have been extremely disappointed with the debut of Jackson Ferguson who had a disappointing outing,
Best Players
Leeches: Deledio, Malceski, Shuey, Foley
Swaggers: Black, Mumford, Birchill, Smith

Nottingham Hoods 24.14.158 defeated Manchester Magic 22.15.147
Late changes Nick Lower replaced Max Bailey and Heath Grundy replaced James Podsiadly for the Hoods but both plaoying out of position.
Despite the late changes forced on the Hoods they still accounted for the Magic who again fell victims to the captains curse. Coach must be pulling his hair out with his Captains choices failing each week as this is the third match lost due to Captains underperforming when selected. Across the park relative battles were even but Andrew Walker up front gave the Hoods the slight edge over a disappointing Magic Captain Buddy Franklin.
Best Players
Hoods: Ablett, Walker, Sewell, Pendlebury
Magic: Liberatore, Sloane, Ward, Black

Hebden Bridge Hedgehogs 31.17.203 defeated Liverpool Lobsters 24.15.159
Late changes; James Polkinghorne replaced Harley Bennell and from outside the emergencies Scott D Thompson replaced Dan Nicholson and Marley Williams replaced Michael Walters.
In what was a very high scoring game the Hedgehogs completely over ran the Lobsters who were hampered by late changes. The Hedgehogs have recorded the highest score of the season and put the competition on notice that they are returning to form and will give the competition a shake. Early close losses seem to be in the past now. Despite the score the the Lobsters put up a reasonable performance returning their highest score for the season also.
Best Players
Hedgehogs: Stanton, Selwood, Mullett, Jones
Lobsters: Duncan, Heppell, Harvey, Goldstein

Winchester Warewolves 25.19.169 defeated Staines Steins 20.18.138
Late Changes: Rhys Stanley replaced Chris Judd for the Steins.
Warewolves continued their impressive showing of recent weeks comfortably accounting for the Steins who suffered from the late withdrawal of star midfielder Chris Judd.  The Warewolves were too strong across the park with a dominant ruck performance from Jarryd Roughead, the back trio of Gibbs, Vlastuin, and Hibberd repelling Steins attacks, through the midfield of Ball, Fyfe, Priddis and Cunnington to Zorko up front having his best game for a couple of weeks. Another team placing the competition on notice, For the Steins Kieran Jack tried hard but lacked support in the midfield to stop the Warewolves clearances.
Best Players
Warewolves: Cunnington, Gibbs, Hibberd, Ball
Steins: Jack, Grima, O'Keefe

Huddersfield Hawks 26.17.173 defeated Birmingahm Bombers 24.14.158
Late Changes: Matthew Broadbent replaced Jordan Russell and from outside the emergencies John Butcher replaced Shaun McKernan for the Hawks.
In another upset the Hawks had a convincing win over Joint leader the Bombers. Late changes did not appear to unsettle the Hawks who followed their match plan ro perfection. With Matthew Kreuzer dominating the hitouts and giving their midfield headed by Josh P Kennedy, David Zaharakis and Sam Mitchell first use of the ball were able to give first class service to Mitch Robinson who has had his best game for the club and iced the first class service by converting.  The Bombers were let down badly by a sub par performance from Captain Marc Murphy who was well held all night. Jordan Lewis and Justin Westhoff starred up front for the Bombers however they did not get the opportunities due to the dominance of the Hawks through the midfield.
Best Players:
Hawks: JP Kennedy, Zaharakis, Bastinac, Robinson.
Bombers: Lewis, Westhoff, Wells, Hartlett.

Crosby Cruisers 24.16.160 defeated Newcastle Falcons  21.14.140
In possibly the biggest upset of the round the Cruiers defeeated the previous high flying Falcons quite comfortably. This is the second consecutive defeat for the Falcons and are the wheels falling off. Another team that started the season slowly with 2 heavy defeats in the first 2 rounds this win cements the Cruisers position in the top 8. With Jarrad Reddan palying his best game for the season for the Cruisers and combining well with Jarrad McVeigh the Cruisers midfield finished on top of the Falcons midfield who seemed disinterested and down on form. Maybe the fact the Darren Jolly was dominating the rucks was a contributing factor as well to the Falcons failure to win the midfield battle. The Falcons forwards were strong performers for the Falcons but were not able to capitilise due to lack of ball movement from the midfield.
Best Players:
Cruisers: Reddan, McVeigh, Jolly, Simpson
Falcons: Bartel, Stokes, Watson, Hannebury

SydneyRox

nice write up ringo!

Bunnies may struggle to make the 8 but we will shape the finals i promise!!

elephants

Get around the Hedgehogs! Good score from the Lobsters all the same though :o

Colliwobblers

Quality Ringo. The Werewolves have found their teeth 5 in a row, but again we play the top of the ladder team next week....

Nails

We're number one, we're number one! (draft pick)

Would be nice to be competitive but with the number of injuries we have it's impossible. Still name the best team possible every week to avail.

Will be nice to see players like Conca, Swallow, Wallis and co. improve
