Is Naitanui Now A Viable FWD Option In DT?

Thinking about getting him in next week for LeCras personally.

Always been an SC gun but is he now becoming a legitimate DT fwd this year??

Looking at the bigger picture for everyone, he is cheap & has DPP for the Cox switcharoo.

I got Roughead instead but I still think Nic Nat will average 85-90 from here. I just don't think he has a high enough ceiling. One to watch for maybe a round 13 trade after his bye?

To answer the question, Yes he should average 85-90 maybe more. As long as a forward maintains an 80 average they are viable.

Personally he doesn't do it for me but could be handy if you have Cox in the rucks :)

I don't think that is much of an upgrade TBH. I actually see LeCras averaging more than NicNat by years end.

But I probably don't rate him as high as others from a DT point of view. :P

Yes! As he is the No1 ruck choice now, gaining possies and HO's at will (Cox more forward now)

he may be this season, but i would still be careful, as a ruck he is a clear option, as a fwd he has to average at least 90 DT to be worth it....

thats a big ask for any key fwd, let alone one who spends time in the ruck. still he wins his own ball in the middle so in his case you would be HOPING for ruck time for him.

I will consider him for the ruck but not sold on him as a fwd yet...  SC a different story obviously

You mean as a keeper? He definitely wouldn't be in the top 6 and might struggle to make my top 10. I think you can make a better choice elsewhere.

As Colli says though, different story for rucks.
