Still little coming from a 13 year old girl being left alone, how sad ???

This is criminal imo, that a young girl was forced alone by herself, just so very wrong!

It actually is criminal I think? Not particularly well educated in the law but I think it is illegal for a minor to be seperated from guardians in the rumoured manner. Everyone knows that you're within your rights not to speak to police without a lawyer present but I would have also thought a guardian was required for a minor (unless of course the incident involved the guardian themselves)...
Any lawyers/law students/individuals well versed in tort law that can comment?

Just heard an interview with the girls mother who has said she did not know that ape or monkey were offensive to Indigenous people and could not understand why all the fuss over it.

Just goes to show that education is required at all levels. If any good has come out of this it is the need to discuss language that is offensive to all races.

i can't see many (if any) adult in the 21st century not having any sort of inkling that calling another human being an "ape" or a "monkey" regardless of what racial background that person was, close to ludicrous    ::)

MCG defends treatment of girl at centre of Adam Goodes scandal as family expresses anger

QuoteTHE Melbourne Cricket Club has defended its treatment of a teenage girl ordered from her seat after she yelled a racist remark at Swans star Adam Goodes at the weekend.
Furious fans hurled abuse at the 13-year-old as she was escorted up the steps from where she had been sitting with her grandmother.
But MCC spokesman Shane Brown said once security guards realised the girl was a minor they went back to find the accompanying adult she had been with.
"After identifying the female patron involved, the guards escorted her out of the seating bowl and referred her to Victoria Police for further investigation,'' Mr Brown said.
"Once informed that the patron was a minor, the guards immediately returned to the seating bowl to locate a parent or guardian.

Eddie could care less about Adam's feelings, he was in the Swans room afterwards for one purpose, and that is to protect the Collingwood brand.
We don't know what the young girl said (it doesn't look good) but she did stay at the ground, unlike 25,000 others who left at 3/4 time.

Unacceptable.

Actually Roost I just heard Eddie speak and he was quite impressive. Sure there is damage control but I'm glad he spoke well because in moments like this is when we need leadership. Such a shame that a great performance (as usual by Goodes V Pies) is diluted by a stupid mindless 14 year old kid. I hope she has a decent support network around her, because she will need it.

Goodes is a class act on every level.

Well said mate - Eddie was genuine.

He respect Goodes without question as we all do. Champion of the game on and off the field a great bloke.

He also speaks for Collingwood, who had a zero tolerance policy before this happened and they enforce it.

Goodes was a true great of the game and a great human for his response and handling of the situation.

In the end what is achieved is a single racist voice, followed by a FLOOD of support for Goodes and the indigenous people.

That matter aside.

Well done to Sydney great win, Pies will bounce back but have MUCH work to do....

A man of my word, I'll wear my DP for a week, as much as it irks me to be constantly drawing attention to the actions of ONE ignorant Pies fan....

I would have preferred my all time favourite LRT DP but this will do ;)

Again Congrats to the Swans fans, on track for another big season, just hope to get tippett in and settled and firing ahead of the finals , get Jetta into some form, and keep the old boys in good health and you're a real shot at another flag

Well the less said about the incident the better, i like your new DP much better

The general opinion of this thread is all class gents, makes me proud of the FF community.

I don't think Goodes reaction was over the top. I think the fact it was a 13 year old is what made a big difference to his reaction, as general society has generally progressed with racism. For the next generation to behave like the older generation did gives insight into how some sectors of society have not evolved... This would have also reopened old, racist wounds for Goodesy too, it wasn't just this comment that emotionally got to him.

Most of us behave differently when presented with circumstances that raise a bad experience or memories, Goodsey's no different.

The man is all class, and handled the situation perfectly. He impressed a lot of friends and colleagues who don't follow AFL with how well he spoke. And I disagree with a previous comment, the girl can change, no question about it. It's how much she wants to change which will determine if she does....

PS nice DP Colli  ;D

Lets make it interesting, I tell you what, since you have no real tough games coming up I'll set you this challange.

If you can remember come see me at around 4pm on Sunday July the 7th, and if you have beaten the team you play that week by more than 100 points I'll wear a Swans DP for another week ;)

@ Samm79 - well said mate. and glad you like my DP, hopefuly you like it enough for both of us   :)

Are you challenging the Swans to bury a team Collie.

it might sound harsh, it probably is, but it is not personal against that team.

the challange is more to see if Sydney can attack for 4 quarters with a view to score big , removing the defensive midset and just all out attacking.

Ithink Sydney has become more attacking this season, moving away from the clogging up horrible ( but effective) locking down type game plan, to a more balanced defence first - but then relentless attack from turnover.

I am enjoying watching Sydney play this season, and I have not enjoyed watching Sydney play for a long time, not even last season really.

We all like to see a brilliant display of football excellence, and last week was Sydney's best game of the season, but I think they are still warming up, by the round I mentioned I would think we could see an awesome display of football.

or we could see a dead rubber. I'm hoping for the awesome display and willing to throw out the challenge to SydneyRox rather than the normal challenge of just winning a tough game.

I mean no offence to the team they play - it is football, we all get our turn at the bottom and my team has had our share down there.

You will probably bury us on Friday night now with Brownie losing his appeal.  But rumours persist of restings which may make it interesting.

Colliwobblers

We are off our game Ringo, the only downside for you other than what ( Brown, Rocky, Burger, Merrett, Golby?)

is that we win every second game  ::)

I'll be there one of my 3 games for the season - supporting MY club and my LOCAL club at the same time....

Can't wait for the Lions to get competitive again, will be next season at worst the one after, and that rivalry with the Pies will re-ignite, and with the Lions competing their fans will be out crowds will be bigger, and Brisbane v Colingwood games at the Gabba will be HUGE again.

didn't enjoy those 3 years ( you know the ones) - but gee the games in Brisbane were a great atmosphere.... these days will come again...

Mailman the 2nd

When was the last time the swans won by 100 points? :P
