gun at getting the ball average at using it. Looks like we are trying to fill the team with classy players who use the ball well but at this stage have trouble finding it.

Gibson sub and athony dropped is testament to this. Scott is prefering guys like mullett, atley, siera etc...

I wouldn't, like Holz said his disposal is what's keeping him out and that's not a quick fix. He can get 50 touches in the VFL and still not get picked if he's turning it over.

Cicjose

he may come in this week due to ziebell being out.....

Has been in good form in the VFL as I said above, he has been getting a lot of the ball but wasn't going to push anyone out of the side, Ziebell out could open up the door for him to come back.

Also Scott promising to be ruthless in swinging the axe after last weeks...."performance" we'll say :P

Remember back to last time Ziebell copped weeks it opened up the door for Cunnington to take his game to a whole new level and look at him now, maybe it could be LA who is the beneficiary of this MRP farce.

Toga

Scored 150-odd DT in the magoos on the weekend. :o

Is a ball magnet, reckon some toughness in the middle would have to benefit the boys? ???

I'd probably say at this stage Anthony is more of an outside midfielder, although with the loss of Ziebell it leaves Swallow and Cunners as the two real source of Grunt in the middle, obviously others like Patch and Gibson running through I'd imagine Anthony would play a similar role as Gibson with their elite work rate ensuring they get plenty of the ball.

its me lads

Been reading about LA trying to work out why he isn't playing. Saw several threads on another website where basicallly all the North fans do is just rip into him.

Seems like he gets a lot of ball but cant kick and doesnt do 1%ers or go hard at the contest.
Anyone know how he is traveling at the moment? Played round 1,2,4,5 and 13 but was dropped again...

From what I read it looks like you guys don't want him? Would he be a trade option come end of season?

roo boys!

Yeah that's just about it, he can run all day but can't kick for shower, no point him constantly getting 30 touches but turning it over.

We already have a number of midfielders that have elite engines (Gibbo would be the first that springs to mind) so would much rather a classier player who can hit a target like Sierakowski or McKenzie in the side.

I think he could be a very viable trade option, would hold some value at clubs very short of mids. Luke McDonald coming in over the off season adds another great kicker to our lineup. Doubt Anthony will be a required player unless he can turn it around and fast.

Also have a few (Cunnington, Ziebell) that can only get 60-70% TOG though, I think another gut runner could be useful to the team.

Yeah I think those numbers would be greatly influenced by the fact that they don't really rest forward at all, they are good for in the in and under but have Wells, Gibson, McKenzie, Atley, Mullett, Sierakowski, Harper (when fit) and also Boomer as outside runners, you are right that it would be good to have another player with a tank like LA's but the majority of the time he'll be getting the ball in space and you want good distributers out there.

With all the resources avilable you would think that if he is commited he should be able to develop into a good kick. Its either a staff issue or anthony just isnt working hard enough.

Teaching a player to find the ball (like atley) should be much more difficult than just getting them the mechanics of being a good kick.

I agree to an extent, you can teach them mechanics and playing at AFL standard it's not as though Anthony can't kick a drop punt or anything we over exaggerate a little. Still, having it boimechanically downpat is different to doing it under extreme pressure.

Ziplock

I think it's the pressure of the decision making, I've seen other players with the same issue.
