Well, you know, they had the most wins.

If you are overrating Pippen, than surely you can't then go to rate Bird>LBJ. Tbh, Durant is prob close to Bird at this point. Bird is really elite offensively but really lacked on the defensive side of his game. Durant with another elite season next season will prob > Bird as a player.

The Legend bordered on 2 steals and a block a game over his career, had some big defensive plays as well (Pistons in the 87 ECF comes to mind).
Wasn't exactly a liability, certainly not a worse defensive player than Durant.

I'm not saying me in general, but I'm saying people over-rate Pippen as a 'sidekick' to MJ. This wasnt a Kobe/Shaq or a Durant/Russ, this was MJ and then pieces around him. Prime Bird is flowering insane man, you make it seem like Bird was a liability on defense... He very well held his own. And LeBron wasn't exactly elite on defense this season tbh.

Durant isn't even close to Bird. You are under-rating the Legend. Best player on 3 finals teams, Durant only ever won 1 finals game.

You guys def overate achievements compared to actual player skills.

I think when we're talking about the greats, there's a pretty strong correlation between the two tbh.

You have to assume achievements stem from the skills though.
Dunno about everyone else, but with 2,000+ games /season (less before expansion) I'm not watching every game, so you rely on awards and reputation to judge players.

Kobe and Rose MVP's though.

Charles Barkley is a big example of that.

Bird vs Durant both through 7 seasons.

Durant has the elite of LBJ to compete. Without LBJ, Durant would have 3 MVPs and atleast 1 ring by now, at the age of 25. Just because someone has someone hasnt got any rings, or big achievements doesn't make them any less of a player.

Yeah because its not like Bird was competing against great players, just another top 3 dude of all time... ::)

Ok Jay bra.

Bird>LBJ

Im done arguing with someone who shifts the post so regularly and stats to just suit their argument but uses thgose exact same metrics to argue something else for their own favour.
