Alex Song is apparently wanting to leave Barcelona (why did he go in the first place???), they could get him back as a defensive midfielder which would add further quality, wage demands might be an issue though

Faaaaark I would love Song at Chelsea, hes what we need!

My massive call for the season,
Chelsea to spend big and lure 2-3 big money signings but choke, have a manager sacked, and scrape into the champions league spots, while winning some shower-tier trophy to keep the glory-hunters from switching to city.

I was gonna make a comment about ManU dropping off the pace and fighting for a top 4 possie come the last few gameweeks but I know people would tear me for being bias hahah.

except you got an attacking midfielder in Marin instead and wasted 8 million last season

whilst you loaned out striker Kevin De Bruyne to his former club last season, now are going after Schurrle as another striker....

and you are going after Hulk again......

http://www.caughtoffside.com/2013/05/04/chelsea-make-33m-brazilian-one-of-their-major-summer-transfer-targets/

add to all of that your on loan striker Romelu Lukaku scored a hat trick on the final day of the season at Old Trafford

not one of those players is a defensive mid

so if you think Song is what you need the manager certainly doesn't think so

I said in my other thread about the transfer window rumours - here http://forum.fanfooty.com.au/index.php/topic,79983.0.html - that Khedira is a target of Mourinho's, so he could fill a similar role... So could Fellaini, hence why you've been linked to him for so long

Guys if you hear any transfer rumours from anywhere then the linked thread is your destination. Please post them, I'm sure many of us would be very  keen to hear it!

Ummm, Song is defensive. What's he got anything to do with Marin? I know you have a thing for the Bundesliga but you lost me there aha.

Marin was unlucky, he was injured early last season and the form of Oscar and Ramires was too good for us to be moving them in and out of the side. Hazard and Mata also went on to exceed expectations playing in the attacking midfield role.
Purely unlucky there for Marko, hardly a waste though. Mourinho will rotate the squad and this will be Marin's year - only 24 so time is on his side.

KDB showed amazing potential at Genk so we snapped him up while we could. Is there a crime against loaning young players? Would you rather see them rot on the bench doing nothing. Come on, we don't want to see a Scott Sinclair 2.0 here do we. De Bruyne is 21 years old, its not like he's coming to the end of his career. He has a massive future ahead of him, he just needs gametime and experience at this stage, something Chelsea can't regularly feed him. Hence, loan.

Schurrle and Hulk are simply rumours. Literally no-one knows what Mourinho wants at Chelsea next season bar him and a select few working at the club. This is all speculation.

In case you didn't notice though, Ba/Torres didn't set the world on fire this season.

Lukaku should be recalled and kept, has been in insane form for WBA and we are probably regretting our decision to loan him for the full season! Should get a lot more opportunities now.

A defensive mid IS what we need. You don't know what our manager thinks. All you have is a few 'rumours' from a few websites.

Oh, and I completely forgot the form of my current favourite player - Victor Moses.

He also played and played well as an attacking mid/winger for us last season. We have an embarrassment of riches at the moment due to years with a lack of creativity we had over recent seasons.

elephants

Add Lucas Piazon to that, gun kid out on loan atm!

According to speculation and a bunch of rumours. What is your point?

Cicjose

you missed it completely you might want to read the post above next time

elephants

No, I'm good.

I maintain we need a CB or DM (depending on where Luiz is played).

Tominator

Clubs with or searching for new managers:

Manchester United
Manchester City
Everton
Chelsea
Southampton
Sunderland

Swansea might lose Laudrup to Everton which has me worried

Apparently Stoke and Tony Pulis have parted ways too!

Nige

I noticed the gap between the top 7 clubs this season and the rest. I think it'll be a lot closer next season.

My Chumps

This year is definitely our year :P *facepalm

Seriously though hope we can push for top 4. So long as Suarez doesn't get suspended, we're looking promising with Coutinho and Sturridge on either wing.

Give him something to sink his teeth into and/or to abuse and he'll be fine.  ;D
