Will the real premo defenders please stand up?

I've got one - Goddard.

The rest: Gibbs has gone down for 3 weeks. Hartlett started out great but the last two weeks has been a crab. Birchall averaged 127 in the first 4 weeks, and then less than half that for the last 4. Pearce Hanley looks the goods, but he's still more than 20 points above his previous season best.

Who else? Hibberd and Heppell look solid but are the true premos? Hibberd also has a checkered injury past. Beau Waters is really good but always gets hurt. Shaw misses a lot of games due to injury or stupidity. Duffield's consistency is shower. Dixon has been really good, but he's young and has a bum ankle. Heath Scotland is getting old, but at least he's pretty consistent right? Chapman is hurt. Who else is there... Hurn? Adcock? Enright? Hell, Bachar Houli is starting to look attractive in this ugly crowd.

What to do? Just no confidence at all in the back line aside from Goddard and probably Hanley!

Looking more and more likely that im gonna keep brett goodes all year, hes scoring better than most prems  :o

I'll be grabbing Hanley ASAP
Need to get Gibbs back in at some point.
I have Goddard and Hibbo atm who are going good

Birchall the spud also in my team
Hoping Goodes and Vlastuin can hold down 2 defender spots for now until someone stands up.

Upgrade defenders as your last line.  Even if the team looks unbalanced.  Ellis the last 3 weeks has averaged more than most other defenders...

I will have 8 ultra prem mids before I get in a solid D5 (already have GOD, gibbs, hanley, Duffman)

Reckon Heppell would be a good choice. May not be a true premo, but he's had good health and been pretty consistent since joining the Bombers. Usually good for 20-25 touches a game and a score of 75 to 100, with the occasional 110 to 130. Since Hartlett cost me a win two weeks ago and Birchall has pretty much already screwed me for this week, I could really go for someone who scores pretty reliably!

Might as well just keep with rookies (vlastin, terlich, goodes) and just get your points in the midfield/fwd line.

The worst choices i made this year was upgrading to Birchall and Hartlett. I'm not going to trade them out but they better improve!

Redbaron

Hartlett and Birchall will ave 90 from here on in . Same as last 2 years

Hanley is a must. But there really is a derth of consistent scoring premiums at the moment. I like Duffield, Waters, Shaw and Scotland as options. They are pretty good at finding the pill and don't often get tagged (with the exception of Shaw perhaps). But even then, i'd have question marks over some of them in some way, it's just a matter of luck in picking the one that will find a sustained amount of consistency.

How is Duffields consistency showerty? Lowest score of 74, then 80-90 and has potential to break the ton (has done so two rds in a row). Doesn't seem to cop a tag.

Shhhh. Dont tell anyone that.  I kept duffman from the start.  I want him to still be my 5.3% POD.

James_Pies

I started with Duffield but upgraded him to Birchall a few weeks back.

You know things are bad when your starting to consider getting in Harry O'Brien  :o

i couldnt understand why everyone was trading duffield out at the start of the year, his scores werent even that bad. was he playing a different role as to what everyone thought he was gonna be playing? or did everyone just get over-excited by birchalls big scores and our extra trades?  :o

im looking at getting him in personally. played a midfield role last night and got plenty of it. getting hanley in after the byes as i already have 5 brisbane players  :-X
