Has GC and Melb next but still should bottom out at just over 400k, then have the bye and then it's BUY BUY BUY! and trade out for probably Terlich who plays in R11 and has the bye in R12...as does Wright and Thurlow...who may be other options.

why would u pick him up? I have the same situation with hartlett. these blokes can clearly be tagged by the opposition and removed from the game .... perhaps there are better options ... gibbs will probably be more consistent option once he returns

Exactly the same reasoning as you, but luckily pushed the button on Hanley instead.
If he goes under 400k I'll grab him as a def/mid emergency. By mid I mean I can put him on the park (DEF) and swap a DPP to the mid if I need to. ;)

I think you're mad if you bring in premium defenders at this stage, unless they've bottomed out and you think they'll come good. It should be your last line to upgrade. They're so inconsistent and last months star will probably be next months spud, and visa versa. Hartlett vs Duffman for example.

You have to look for the bargains or just forget about defense, I reckon. I know we've all had our hands forced in the last couple of weeks. I've been lucky to avoid donuts, but the only trades I've made have been Ellis (genius! :D) and pulling the trigger early with Staker coming in for Stevenson. Just need Gibbs back! :P
