Does Gibbs have to go?

After keeping the faith in both him and Pittard, I find myself copping a donut with a huge league match this week with Goodes, Gibbs and Pittard out.

Goodesy is staying and Pittard hasn't really made enough coin to be traded IMO.

I've got two options:

A) Gibbs -> Clarke/Laird/Sierakowski etc
     Rowe -> Thomas

I do still like this one as it gets rid of 2 non players and gets me Daisy, along with 170k in the bank to do Lucas -> Priddis next week or even Neade -> Priddis. Does leave my defence really weak though.

B) Gibbs -> Shaw/Hibberd
Maybe sideways Rowe but could just leave him on the bench.

Ensures my defence isn't weakened. Miss the boat on Daisy and no money for future upgrades.

I'd do option b that way your trading him for another keeper.

I like option A - Make some money on Gibbs for future upgrades (Priddis - Franklin Watson etc), Thomas is a must IMO.
I can see luvfooty's point in regard to another keeper though, but sometimes you need to take a risk !
I assume you have Vlastuin, he could be another option for a down grade !

Another option perhaps Ellis in option A, but doesn't leave me with much upgrading money.

If you've kept Gibbs for one week you might as well keep him for one more as he'll almost certainly be back next week.

I traded Pittard last week and I'd probably trade him, bring in Vlastuin if you don't have him?

Gibbs is a top 6 defender and will return next week. I'd cash in Pittard and upgrade Goodes, neither of those 2 are likely to be top 6 defenders.

Has to be Pittard. I traded him to Ellis last week, but its probably too late for that, so bring in a playing rook. Will save a donut, but probably not by much! You have to keep Gibbs, you might win this round, but may come to regret it for the rest of the season.

Yep I can see where you're coming from and I think I will probably end up trading Pittard in the end.

Another option with Gibbs though could be to get Hanley in for Heath to replace him in a few weeks?

So Gibbs -> rook, Rowe -> Daisy, then next week Lucas -> Priddis and Heath -> Hanley? MIght just be able to afford it, may have to wait a week on the Hanley trade. Is that just a waste of a couple of trades as Hanley = Gibbs?

Other option would leave me Pittard -> rook, miss the boat on Daisy, then do Lucas/Neade -> Priddis next week.

I can indeed.

Can also get Vlastuin this way, not a whole lot of cash in the bank for future upgrades though.

Pittard -> Vlastuin, Rowe -> Gray could work.

Poll added including a new option, the double downgrade. Was going to go Viney -> Vlas and swing Gibbs onto the mid bench for a week but Cotchin and Crouch out means I can't do that!

The double downgrade gives me 250k to work with, and the plan would be as follows:
Next week:
Lucas -> Priddis
Neade/Rowe -> Lonergan/rookie

Week after:
Macaffer -> Buddy
Neade/Rowe -> Nic Nat


Means I miss the boat on Daisy but it finishes off my forward line with Buddy and NicNat. Really reluctant to trade Pittard but not sure if I can afford to cop ANOTHER 0.
