He's a good player and it wouldnt be such a bad idea. These type of risks can pay big dividends if you pull it off. With only a BE of 22 why not? If i had a spare trade i would. The only thing that worries me is his durability, injury prone. He would be costing the dockers $$$ over the years with all his strapping.
Why not Harbrow??? He's been ultra consistent with his scores. Malceski is another in good form.

Ricochet

Not a terrible option and has the ability to score well, but yeh with that kind of cash saved up mate I would look at the proven premiums

Haven't lost a game yet and have been averaging 1940... Have had an easy run at the start of the season and I'm about to come up to some competitive teams scoring over 2000 mark... So I'm priming to make my upgrades

LaHug

How about if you're strapped for cash but want to make an upgrade? Is he worthwhile then? Surely, if he scores another 90+ score, he'll rise a lot in cash?

Toga

What's the situation Huggy? Who are you upgrading?

Ibbotson's BE is 22 at the moment, looks to have turned a new page but who knows if he can keep it up, and at $358K that could be a big mistake :-X

Two guys you could look at are Brandon Ellis ($248K, -18 BE) and, if you don't have him still, Jasper Pittard ($213K, 8 BE).

Both would be downgrades/straight swaps from Stevenson/Heath and will make you money - if Ellis can escape the vest his scoring is quite good too, with a couple of 80's

Basically, I wanna get rid of some combination of Stevenson/Heath/Terlich, Viney, and Neade/Dwyer this week with only $209,100 in the bank. I can double upgrade if I get Gray and Ibbotson but both are risky. Alternatively, I can go Vlastuin with one and get practically anyone in my forwards. Or I can leave my forwards alone (currently playing 5 premiums and Mayes) and touch up my mids. Finally, I have the option to give up on Lids/Cotch and find someone better. Stupid Richmond fandom causing me to think both were good choices :(

Toga

Your problems sound very similar to mine. :P

Leave your forwards imo, Mayes is doing well and can hold his own until his bye in Round 11. Same structure as what I'm rolling with atm. ;)

I'd definitely trade Stevenson. He sucked on the weekend and his money-making capacity is gone I think. So Trade #1 would be Stevenson -> Vlastuin/Laird imo. :)

I also have Cotch and Lids. Hold them, they'll come good (I hope). Cotch will be fine, his last two scores have been affected by injury/illness, so would take them with a grain of salt. Lids is an interesting one; those tags he is getting are no good and he's struggling. But the way I see it he should still be able to average close to 100 this season, and while that's not what we want, it's something we can just have sitting there for the time being, before looking to offload him if he doesn't improve once the rest of our side is set.

How many premium backs/mids do you have atm?

If you have four or more premium defenders leave that line be for the moment I think, maybe look to upgrade Heath in a week or two, and use your trade to upgrade Viney or Dwyer to any premium midfielder you can afford, maybe Murphy/Swallow if you can. If you only have three premium backs, I'd look at getting another in. :)

LaHug

Only got Goddard, Heppell, Hartlett in the backs so I need another. I do have Cox in my forwards and I'll eventually have him as a ruck when I decide I've had enough of Bellchambers (or if he/Berger get injured). Meaning I have two more forwards to bring in at some stage.
I can comfortably afford Heath/Terlich and Stevenson to Vlas and Shaw. But, obviously, I'd have more cash if I got Ibbo instead. Not worth it, I'm guessing?

Toga

I wouldn't cheap out on a premium, could really burn you :-[

Hanley is only 450K iirc, could you afford him?

LaHug

Is Shaw cheaping out though? Yes, I could afford Hanley. The more I pay now, the less likely I'll be able to afford players like Jobe when they bottom out.

Toga

Nah I mean getting Ibbo would be cheaping out ;)

Shaw is a premium but don't think he will be top 6 defenders, but still would be a good option all the same. I'd prefer someone like Hanley/Birchall (both will be coming into my side in the next month).

That's true but I guess it's something you have to consider... Shaw is a solid option but too much of a roller coaster for me.

essendon2

serious option? ???

103, 96 and now on 74 in the 3rd 8)

Kellogscrunchynut

Still a very speculative pick, although might be a good way to get rid of Hartlett.

Toga

:o

I'd probably prefer to go Brandon Ellis though tbh
