I have the common problem of Heppell, Gibbs, Pittard, Goodes all being out but to rub salt into the already infected wound I also have Fyfe out as well as Crouch warming the pine.

Have been playing around with some options and my best one IMO so far is this: Goodes-->Vlaustin and Fyfe-->Birchall by subbing Gibbs into the midfield, leaving me with 105k No matter what I do I will have no cover in the Backline or Midfield so now it's an issue of trying to do the most productive trades for my team.

Then next week hopefully I can get trade a rookie defender out, sub gibbs back into defense and then do whatever else.

NOTE. If instead of Birchall i bring in Hartlett I will have $174k as opposed to $105k left in the bank.

CURRENT
DEF: Goddard, Heppell, Gibbs, Goodes, Heath, Stevenson, (Pittard, Terlich)
MID: Swan, Ablett, Pendlebury, Dangerfield, Fyfe, Moloney,Wines, O'Meara (Crouch, Mayes)

Please voice your opinion. I will cheer.
Not keen on trading Heppell or Gibbs.

Jormas

Fyfe -> Harlett and put Gibbs on your Mids bench.

+ Pittard/Goodes to Birchall/Waters

put Mayes on your mid field

should leave u with no donuts and Gibbs warming your pine.

Sorry forgot to add. only $66k in bank ATM.

So Fyfe-->Hartlett then Goodes--> only $321k to spend.

personally I've decided to trade gibbs out, the combo of a hammy injury which will surely have him on doubt next week and a BE of 129 mean I think we can afford to let him go and get him in a few. Not like he was tearing games apart anyway. Heppell is clearly being rested so I agree he's a hold.

Personally I've grabbed Hartlett as a keeper and Dixon to make cash+score until being turned back into Gibbs, could chnage before lockout but that's where I'm at.

Sweetness

I'd go Hartlett over Birchall to be honest.
But the Fyfe trade (with DDP trickery) sounds like a good one, I am doing something similar.

I have also been tossing up with who to downgrade to in the back (now that Docherty and Laird aren't named)
Vlastuin is named on the ball for the 2nd week in the row which is encouraging.

Good trading ideas though!

(hoping Gibba is just 1 week) The way I see it now is that he will lose money but will be a keeper and I don't want to bother with the effort of trying to get him back after i've traded him. Frusturating that Heppell is being rested but could be for the best.

Leaning towards Hartlett, saves me a ton of cash and Birchall might be getting shut-down more. Hopefully Hartlett doesn't get rested.

Vlaustin should hopefully play well and hold his spot  :-X

Get Hartlett in over Birchall for sure, couldn't bring myself to pay that much for him. Another option instead of Vlastuin could be Saunders from St Kilda? Get to see if he's sub or not plus leaves you with 40k more for upgrades next week

chief007

i have the same problem, just wondering what your thought are on nathan wright instead of vlastuin he will make some coin has an average of 46 and is 134k so a bit cheaper, so potentially make an extra 13k

Clyde Frog

I don't have Heppell but I have Gibbs, Goodes, Pittard and Fyfe out.

My plan is to trade Fyfe to Hartlett by subbing Goodes onto my MID bench. My other trade is Pittard to Saunders.
When Gibbs comes back I will have 4 premo defenders (I brought in Cloke last week so I have no playing rookies in the FWD's)

Before trades I have 70k in the bank but that goes to 206k afterwards. I will have start 4 rookies in the midfield this week though but next week I can hopefully downgrade Stevenson and upgrade Wines or Matt Jones to maybe Watson.

Maybe you could do something similar by putting Gibbs and Heppell on your DEF bench and playing Terlich and whoever you downgrade Pittard to (Saunders/Vlastuin). Then if you trade Fyfe to Hartlett/Birchall you can keep Goodes on your MID bench and play Mayes because Goodes offers more value to keep than Pittard.

Hope that gave you some ideas.

Zombie2.5

I wouldn't get Birches at this price.

Anyways, he has Crows & Sydney coming up next, not sure if he will score that well.(doesn't have a great scoring history vs crows). Also after that 151 is gone from his 3-game avg, he should drop. After that though, he has GWS, GC, Melb before a bye!
So jump on then, or after the bye if you need to avoid donuts

antonc

The same 4 backs out for me + 1 more warming the pine.
I got Birch this week (already had Hartlett), but in your case I would prob go Hartlett and maybe Birch in a few weeks after his sydney game. He will have dropped a little in price and will have a great run as posted by zombie.
As for your rookie back to bring in I would wait until subs are named for tonight and maybe go saunders.
Alternatively you could bring in sierakowski from North who imo will score ok and is only 108 K, but he could be getting the vest from liam anthony.
Good luck!!

Ricochet

Why not instead of Vlastuin go to a rookie like Wright who will give you a price rise this week. Then jump on Vlastuin next week on the bubble

I'm in a very similar position to you except instead of Crouch I have Whitfield. I'm doing Fyfe/Gibbs-->Hartlett/Scotland via Goodes DPP. Two sideways trades, I know, but it means my backline will have 5 premos (Birch, Godd, Hartlett, Scotland and Heppell when he comes back next week) and hopefully that will be the end of my trades back there (haha, unlikely). To avoid a doughnut we need to bring in 2 defenders, which sucks, so I figured I may as well bring in two guns. Trading Gibbs out because it leaves me with $418k to do two midfield upgrades next week or to do Hoff-->SJ which I wanted to do this week....but that may be a waste of money now...not sure. I'll have to re-assess my trades for next week after the round, but I'm setting myself up with a lot of freedom and a decent backline (even if the rest of the team needs a lot of work!)

jamfrank

I like your trade. I'd go Hartlett or Scotland over Birchall...

Real big thanks for the opinions guys. Starting to look at Scotland now a lot more now. Will stick with the plan that you guys have suggested to me. Will look a other rookies when I get home and sus out what the best option is.
