Good news for the club with Jack ready to sign a new contract with the Tiges. Never thought he would consider leaving, the way he plays for the club with so much passion, the guy bleeds yellow and black. Still a raft of guys we'll be needing to re-sign this year, including Cotch, Dusty, Conca, Rance, Grimes, Ellis, Batchelor and McGuane.

RICHMOND forward Jack Riewoldt wants to remain a Tiger and for his new contract to be finalised as soon as possible.

The 24-year-old is one of a raft of experienced Tigers poised to come out of contract at the end of the season, with captain Trent Cotchin and midfielder Dustin Martin other headline acts.

Riewoldt said his management group Strategic and manager Liam Pickering were sorting it out after the sudden resignation of football manager Craig Cameron in February delayed proceedings.

"I think any player wants to get their contract [talks] over and done with and their future set in stone as soon as possible," Riewoldt said on Wednesday.

"I think the process with all of our contracts has been put back a little bit by Craig Cameron leaving so abruptly and really having to fill that void.

"I think we've just been caught behind the ball with Craig leaving so that will happen as soon as it happens and we'll sort it out and move on from there.

"It's definitely no distraction for us because we're excited about how we're playing."

Cameron, who left the Tigers to join the horse racing industry, was replaced by Dan Richardson, a former associate director of sports marketing and management company Elite Sports Properties.

While Riewoldt, Cotchin and Martin are the big guns needing new deals, a number of other Tigers including Dylan Grimes, Brandon Ellis, Jake Batchelor, Luke McGuane, Alex Rance and Reece Conca are in the same position.

Riewoldt said the process to secure the list would unfold in the near future.

"No doubt we'll be catching up on those sorts of things in the coming months and really ticking it off because we've got some young guys coming out of contract that are building in the right direction and they're the players that we're looking to re-sign."

And interesting on the topic of Jack's commitment to the club, he's copped a bit from the media this week.. Bit uncalled for?

So much uproar about him telling his teammates to hurry up so they could get off the field, don't think it was that big a deal but is that just my opinion? ???

JACK Riewoldt says his on-field body language and attitude is a product of wearing his heart on his sleeve

Good news to see that he wants to be with the club and thinks we are heading in the right direction!  :)

Is it possible to have any more??

So do we think he's gonna re-sign?

Heard a lot of rumours about Fremantle throwing bucketloads of money at him and that we as of yet haven't offered him enough... And if we do try to match Fremantle then re-signing Dusty, Conca, Grimes may become difficult.

Rumours might be all they are, but they're making me nervous :-[

Nige

I was just discussing this with somebody this afternoon. I'm convinced he will re-sign, but as long as he hasn't and these rumours keep filling the air, I'm gonna sweat.  :(

Toga

Yeah exactly Nige, until he puts pen to paper I'm gonna be nervous :-X

Really want to keep him and Dusty :-X

Nige

I reckon they'll both sign, but gee, I hate it when contract talks are drawn out.  :-\

its me lads

I think he'll re-sign. Loves the club and they are going places this year/next few years.

I'm positive jack will sign. It would be a massive shock if he didn't. He is very passionate and has spoken in the past about the fact that players would have to sacrifice a little bit of money for success.

Dusty I would have been certain would stay but who knows? He is a very private and reserved person and hard to know if he's happy or not. Always seems grumpy lol. He did turn down a big offer from GWS last time though so don't see why he would go now that he is playing great footy and in the verge of a successful era.

Conca I really have no idea about. Could potentially want to go home to WA.

quinny88

There we go, just reported on the footy show that he is 100% signing up :D

Barrett literally just said on the Footy Show that Jack should re-sign in the next week.  8)

Beat me to it, quinny!

Toga

Yay that's good to hear! :D

Really really really hoping Dusty does soon as well to give me peace of mind!

News on SEN this morning was that Brisbane are very keen on Jack and are willing to pay. Dont know any more than that though.  :-\
