lol and also what about helbig intentionally stepping on danyle pearce's hand... definitely sending a good message there

helbig could have done far more damage with his boot than what fyfe could have done with his

Gotta agree with you there mate, Helbig was pretty stupid and should've copped a couple of weeks there.

But I disagree about Fyfe not trying to hurt him, looked to me like he lashed out with his boot to the kidneys to do exactly that. Jackson was hardly on him, bit unnecessary.

unnecessary yes, but force was very low. AND IT'S NAT BLOODY FYFE!  ::)

Toga

Haha yeah, force was low, but the intention was there.

Believe me, I don't like it either! He's a champion!

lol doubt any footballer knows what a kidney is, let alone where they are

i'd say it was more intended to push off then trying to kick to inflict pain... if that makes sense

see how it unfolds i guess... but do think he should challenge

Toga

of course they know what a kidney is, how else does the alcohol get out of your system! :P (joking)

but yeah, i see what you mean. but still think it was worthy of a report.. :-X

I don't think it was worthy of a report (maybe i'm biased  though ;D  ::) )

If they challenge what happens?

Toga

Well, it was 1 week with an early plea... So I guess if successful he gets away with a reprimand/no charge, but if unsuccessful, he comes away with a two match suspension :-[

u guys actually played footy? pretty easy from the couch to say what a bloke should do to get some mongrel tagger off of him
+1000 Especially when you've been copping it all day and not getting free kicks for worst stuff than what Fyfe got reported for

jamfrank

My DT really needs Fyfe to get off. But didn't he get activation points for "intentional", "body contact" and "low impact". Pretty hard to disprove any one of those in regards to the incident.

Toga

Yup, intientional, body contact and low impact was the verdict... Not sure how they can disprove that unless they've got some super-good argument..

That brings us back to the 'two wrongs don't make a right' argument though mate. Its shower and its not fair that taggers are allowed to niggle all game for no punishment but its the way it is.

Fyfe was caught in the act and not sure how he can argue his case without the MRP rebutting with 'two wrongs dont make a right' :-\

Toga

Agreed ele.

And the thing is, you guys are saying Fyfe kicked Jackson to get him off, Jackson is barely on him at this point? Watch the footage, Fyfe's kick is in retaliation to a bit of a shove from Jackson...

I know what you mean about Stevie J last week being sat on by Mattner, and Fyfe might have experienced similar incidents on the weekend, but the incident in question I don't think there's any arguing that Fyfe is in the wrong :-X

me

tribunal has started, hope he gets off - absolute load of crock

jamfrank

The AFL counsel has so far said that Fyfe used "some force" and also that his claim he didn't know that he made contact "doesn't sound right". Where is the tangible evidence here? The video evidence doesn't prove a thing- there is no way of knowing if Fyfe looked at Jackson as you can't see his eyes, only his head move.

If he gets 2 weeks for this, it'll be an absolute joke.
