Young midfielders Billie Smedts and Josh Caddy were intercepted by police late Wednesday afternoon after being seen wearing balaclavas and trying to break into a house.

The pair today admitted they had worn the balaclavas with a view to scaring teammate Jackson Thurlow who had recently moved into a new house.

But they went to the wrong address and a female neighbour reported them to police.

Congratulations!

Whoops

That would be news for weeks if it was Collingwood players

Capper

Wow, 2 late changes coming for the cats??

I heard the cops went down to the Catery as well to read the riot act

Good idea to piss Chris Scott off

Cicjose

especially Chris Scott's no nonsense approach to playing for the Geelong Football Club

Jroo

Haha this is gold.
Caddy and Smedts  ::)

Bill Manspeaker

haha cmon guys, it was a harmless prank that went wrong. it shouldn't have anything to do with the football club.

Cicjose

except that these immature brats are not even first choice players
in arguably one of the strongest teams in the league.....

they should be doing everything to impress the coach to justify selection and
prove they can handle the responsibility of playing at a club whose dominance in the competition

we haven't seen since the Hawks of the 80's

Bill Manspeaker

i still think it shouldn't have anything to do with the football club. they are young and allowed to have a bit of fun outside of football. so this prank went a little wrong.. no one got hurt and my guess is the lady that called the cops has forgiven them.

no biggie for me

+ 1 a harmless prank. Surely there is no chnace they will be punished for this.

Well, if you read the article, it says there won't be any extra punishment from the police or the club

..... But it wasn't a harmless prank! The police had GUNS pointed at them ffs.

Bill Manspeaker

the prank itself was harmless. the prank went wrong and the cops thought they were just doing their job.

i still think it's funny :P

I got a good laugh out of it, always funny when a prank goes wrong like that, but as long as no one is hurt in the end.

Toga

That is funny!! :P

I mean yeah, it was stupid and escelated a bit, but I laughed my ass of when i heard it :P

Think it was Sewood a few weeks ago in one of the drills: "Billie Smedts... He's just dumb." Haha so he's renowned for not being the sharpest tool in the shed ::)

Ziplock

hahahahaha, so stupid.

something like this happened at my school once- a bunch of these kids took these old and broken religious statues from an abandoned house, and then dropped them on peoples doorsteps as a joke. But they missed one of our friends house, and dropped it off at the neighbour... who'd been going through a really messy divorce in which her ex was stalking her, and freaked out, misconstruing it for a death threat from her ex and called the cops.

so dumb lol.
