Every parent wants their child to make a difference but also wants their arrival to be normal. Read to your son, now, and then give him the courage to turn the pages of life.

*btw, don't give him an iPod, iPad, Wii, X-box, etc. - give him a footy as his first present, and watch closely what he does with it.

Encourage, believe, support.

Remember Mum is Uluru and you don't get to climb the rock for a while  ;)

So wise and so funny. ;D
After watching your child be born your in no hurry to get back in the water, has the same affect as a shark attack i found.
...yet Rodney Fox had three kids  :o

Be yourself don't try and be your Dad - even if he is Chuck Norris.

Congrats mate going to have some great times in the near future

i don't have a kid but i live with my sister and 4 year old nephew

one thing i will say is they are very impressionable think that's the word they will copy habits off you like things you say and even things you do so just be wary of this

also be prepared for some really shifty stuff just for example lately me nephew has a habit of getting up at like 4am and going to watch cartoons in the loungeroom to try and stop this we unplugged the tv from the powerpoint but he plugged it back in in the morning :o yes he got in trouble >:( they can be pretty smart like i got up to go to the toilet seen the tv light was on when i came out of the toilet it was off and he was in bed PRETENDING to be asleep

be prepared when he gets older to repeat yourself many times >:(

btw have you got any pets? pets are great to have with kids imo

but you are going to have so many great moments with him

Good luck Ossie, all the best with the little bundle of joy :)

Thanks for that everyone :/ I'll add it to my baby notes already (if I spend as much time on the baby as I do fantasy football, think he'll be fine)!

Good luck Oss, watching the birth of my 2 kids, was truly the most amazing times ive ever had.( including the 04 G/F, but that was real close lol) It definately changes your life completely, but the love they give back is a feeling you won't find anywhere. All the advice on here is spot on, the biggest advice i'll give, is to give Mrs Oss all the help you can and more. Remember, happy mum. happy bubs

Truly you never really lose them and these days they stay home longer.  Just in time to start being grandparents and the fun starts again.

Hey Ozzie this is for when they get older but if you want them to be good at maths put a times table chart on the back of the toilet door

Parents did it with me and really helped maths was my strongest subject in primary school

ossie85

Yup! Sounds like a plan. You might have guessed maths was one of my strong suits also
