jacks watts just seems to be struggling at the dees, I dont think he will shake the pick 1 over nic nat while he stays there and the dees are quickly becoming famous for ruining talented players. I think Watts may look elsewhere in the trade period and im throwing just a left field question.

Should we target him?

I still feel he has talent and i wouldnt mind seeing him in our sqaud, Petrie is getting old and while we have up and commers like Kennedy and Black do you guys think its worth a punt on him?

Yep. The kid would be a star in a team where he isn't expected to carry them.

Yeah, he wouldn't come super cheap I reckon as the number 1 draft pick mantle sticks with him, the talent isn't a question what so ever and could be a handy addition to our forward line or even another option off half back.

There will be decent line if he goes on the market. North might be a good fit though.

perhaps not theoretical

"Watts was made aware last trade period of interest from rival clubs, including Carlton and North Melbourne. The interest will be more significant this year."

issue is probably would need a first round pick and we are using that on Mcdonald. I dont think a mid second round pick will be enough.

Interesting from Melbourne's point of view here, is it time they cut their losses and accept whatever the best offer is this trade period or keep investing the faith they've put into him? Like you said he will probably be the one looking for greener pastures, but how much will they play along?

kilbluff1985

think a club outside Melbourne will suit him better less media attention

Don't think that Melbourne will be keen at all, especially given they have already lost Scully.
Really need to persist with him I think, don't think there are many players in the league that would prosper at Melbourne at the moment... Jack is just unlucky he has been made the scapegoat because he is #1.

Agree with KB as well, needs to get away from the footy states. Qld/NSW would be better fits.

As I posted in the Melbourne thread - Theoretically if Melbourne were to agree to a trade he would be a good fit at Brisbane who will have space in their salary cap.  Will be a great foil for Brownie that we are looking for.
