Roughy is my only player on the chopping block this week. Here are the pros and cons of keeping him:

Pros to keep him:
- he was one of the few most prolific forwards over the last 2 years (he's in my forwrad line BTW).
- last year he scored almost as well (averaging around 95) when playing up forward and not in the ruck.
- bailey was subbed out this week + lake will come in this week, which means bailey may be axed.
- it will be bloody annoying if i trade him and he starts scoring well.
- i get to keep my MPP link (ryder is suspended and cox is too expensive).
- hes already gone down 50k.

Pros to dump him:
- he will go down 50k more if he keeps it up.
- hes been terrible.
- hes been playing up forward and not pushing up the ground much, which generally means worse scores.
- i want to upgrade every week from after round 4 onwards, so this might be the last chance to dump him until the extra trade in the bye weeks.

would u trade him? any thoughts greatly appreciated!!!

I think I would keep him, if I had picked him in the first place.

Also, who else you thinking about?

I dumped him last week too.
Not regretting it so far. 8)
Would recommend you doing it too before he bleeds too much cash.
Risky no matter what you decide but he doesn't instill much confidence with his scores so far.

i would have to just trade him for a non MPP.

probably martin or possibly bartel if i decide to use the extra cash i have (which i would prefer not to do).

I am a bad person to ask then because I'm on a mighty Dusty high at the moment!!  8)

And I barrack for Hawthorn.  ;D

And I hate Geelong (you Cat supporters know why)  ::)

And I hate Jeff Kennett too!  >:(

With a BE of 140 and games against...

Freo - Griffin / McPharlin? ave 98 (averages over last FIVE games)

North - Goldy / McM Thomp? ave 72

Adelaide - Jacobs / Rutten? - ave 95

Swans - Mummy/Pike / tough defenders - ave 85

I think I'd get him out.

he will only drop 50k more over the few weeks even if he does really badly.

i dont think its too urgent in terms of a price drop, is that the only reason u would trade?

HotTiges

def the two ruck options as in hale and bailey have killed off his scores.. and his scores have been in top tier games so i expect him to improve but not with those 2 in the side.. offload now while you can, with the extra trades you can bring him back although I'm loathed to do that.

freo and sydney will be tough. kangas and adelaides defenders are the best in the comp though.

he does have gws, gcs and melbourne after that. surely he'll dominate against them?

Call me demanding, but 4 more weeks against tough nuts will surely make you lose patience.

You need to consider -

What will he be worth by then?
Who else can you get now that will be out of reach by then?
Why will he score more? (A forward line of Buddy, Hale and Roughy is tight)
Bailey is looking OK too.

OK. If Bailey is dropped - keep Roughy. Otherwise say bye.

Then - who comes in? Martin? Bartel? SJ?? No one really stands out - unless Westhoff is your man? Monfries - not for me.

thanks heaps that really helps me get to the facts.

worth?

will drop around 50k more, so half way down. half cup full or empty?

trade in

dont need to worry about that as no one really stands out anyway.

score more?
if bailey gets dropped (then ill definately keep him). or just because he is a proven scorer and maybe just had a bad few weeks.

from the comments so far, im thinking trade unless bailey is out.

please more opinions for conformation!

sammy123

That plus points, if he does real bad. The 50k i can (not happily) live with

whichie

Not a fan, better options out there

Dudge and tor added more of my thoughts that I didn't include in my post above. Not only are u risking further price drops there's the points u will potentially miss out on and a traded in player who was comparably priced or in form and out of your price range. Good luck on what u decide but after being burned by Kurt Tippett by keeping him too long a couple of seasons ago I jumped off Roughy to make sure it didn't happen again. We are talking about the possibility ofa 100k price drop and think his poor scoring could continue.
