@ MEMPH-

you can ONLY name a ruckman in the ruck position, the ruckman does not have to be named.

if you have no ruckman like last week an emergency will be used at 50% of his score ( your highest scoring emergency not already used)

you can leave it blank, but you might as well name someone not named in the hope he plays whoever it is

Very hard to choose out of J. Roughead, J. Brown and D. Giansiracusa for final forward spot. All have been greatly underwhelming.

At first I was thinking I'd drop J. Roughead, but really not sure....

Don't agree with this Colli. It's not like a real AFL team shows up to the match without a player they plan to play in the ruck for the match. Even if he isn't usually a ruck (J. Brennan) they still have plans. Should be allowed (IMO) but obviously @ 50% penalty

Otherwise it's a bit harsh if they also have 3 late withdrawals and need to cop a 25% because they already were using 1 emergency as ruck cover.

Obviously I respect your opinion and normally always agree with you, but not a fan of that one.

so if you don't bother to draft a ruck or trade for one in future seasons because they score shower you can just keep your elite mids and fwds and simply play an extra mid or fwd forever in your ruck position instead of trading or drafting to have a team capable of fielding a ruckman week in week out?

this is the thing if you don't have a good list and you can't field a ruckman there is no incentive to do so if you can just name a premium mid or fwd in their place in which case even at 50% off they are likely to score similar.

while i tend to agree with your point, there simply is not a real afl team that doesn't have a ruckman to play each week, not even Geelong with 3 injured...

i don't want to provide an incentive or way out for teams here that choose to draft and trade heavily for the high scoring players as in fwds and mids, then neglect the ruck position as they score nowhere near as well.

they get the benefit of having drafted and traded heavily in the good scoring positions , they can also pay the price for later not being able to field a ruckman.

sound reasonable?

Nails

Sounds reasonable, but all teams would put their mids mids in the midfield...

Therefore most teams would have a 110 average mid at best for rucks

55 point midfielder in the ruck is worse than most of the rucks in the comp.

monstrum

If its not to much to ask id like to put K.Hunt as my 3rd emergency. I copied my team from last week and tweeked it but my third emergency had been moved onto the field i only just realized.

Obviousley im fine with it if anyone cares, hopefully wont matter anyway

Memphistopheles

Well its not like we didn't draft any rucks, not that I did the drafting, but we are missing Kreuzer and Jolly through injury.

If this was like a real team I'd name my next tallest guy there but I don't even think I have any kpp players.

Didnt realise my davey wasn't Aaron. Forgot there was 2, that should be Alwyn then who I think/hope is playing.

I was not refering to you, not that you could take offence if i was - as you said you didnt draft the team.

my explanation was more for the ongoing list management of teams, knowing you could just name a premium mid in your ruck spot would be a lot easier than having to have a couple of mature rucks on your list and at least a couple of developing ones.

this would take away a major part of managing your list as players like senior rucks retire you would have to trade for rucks and draft a ruck instead of another gun mid kid....

i just think making sure you can only ever play a player in the position he plays in ( like all other fantasy comps) is the best way to go. (except with emergency cover of course)
