He has been gunning it, but the ship has sailed, no point really getting on now. I'm sure he'll eventually pumpkin up, but well done to those who picked him up, enjoy the price rises.

He will be the most expensive forward!

Although, he has only vsed Melbourne, GWS and Crows. (I've noticed he always steps up and does well in showdowns and spuds up in other games for some reason). He still has Gold Coast to come next week, so maybe another huge score on the cards, before he pumpkins up again.
Couldn't sum it up better. I think JJk could also be considered but Westhoff is now $465k... How are you going to get him everyone listen to Zombie 2.5
The ship hasn't sailed, he has a BE of -20. If he gets his predicted score of 109 against Gold Coast he will go up another 55k. Then he would have a BE of 50odd so if he does spud up the next week he shouldn't drop in price.
Exactly, Im going to keep him for another 2 weeks. If he score reasonable against WC I'll probably end up keeping him for a while, and look to upgrade aroundhim . If he doesnt fire I'll trade him to Buddy who should be ripe for the picking, just before he comes up against GC, Melb and GWS
haha if you already have him good on you :) Everyone else who is bringing him in now is pissing away $70K, who gives a shower about the cash, it's is most likely Hoffy and JJK won't be keepers and just cash cows. I've missed out on both of them so I'm just going to go Zorko -> Stevie J and have a safe choice who I'm 99.99% sure will average 10-20 points higher than the both of them by the end of the season
Why are we pissing away cash? He has a -BE and plays an easy team this week. If he goes 100+ he makes another 50k.

Then what? Sam Rowe will make 50k each week for the next 3 and he only has to score 60 each week not 110. Gotta think slightly more long term. If you don't already have westhoff you'd only be getting him if you want him as a keeper who you think is currently undervalued. Currently he's priced around 90 so if he only averages 90 for you for the rest of the year then you have gotten no value from your trade. Even if he goes up 50k this week you can get that 50k much easier from a rookie. For those who have flukily had him from the start - well played. Ride his scores out till they inevitably dry up then upgrade.

Hahaha you've just talked me back to Stevie J, that is so fair. I think this discussion is adjourned. I just noticed that and Wines will shower all over the Hoff. I don't think the Hoff will even average 90 this season in all honesty. I'm going Stevie J. I have 10 other players who will each make more than $50k and were chosen for upgrade purposes :)

I was not having a Bar of Westhoff but then was sold but M1tch robbo you may have talked me out of it. Will some terrible picks like Karnezis and Zorko i told myself that i will only go for quality players who i know will perform- Bartel. But i am worried still. Westy has GC this week and should carve up, also a number of things people have said on here like- Ports new coaching staff (fitness aswell) etc- taking the club in a new direction also someone made a valid point- how do you stop Westhoff- 199cm with a massive tank. If he is finally right, fit and has the perfect role then he might be able to shine this year. As someone mentioned before, I remember when he first played and he was doing very well, there was alot of hype around him.

Westhoff is a scarecrow hhahaaha. Why do people just assume a player will carve up because they are versing GCS. The only team I'd actually take into account for something like that is the Demons. Not trying to argue it's just what I believe through empirical evidence.

Well this season Teams against Gold Coast- St.Kilda, Sydney, Brisbane have had 4, 5 and 3 hundreds respectively. The pressure is still not there and who will match up on Westhoff anyway? Warnock? ;D  ;D

Why do I assume he'll carve up v GC. Not because they are rubbish but because of the form/confidence he's got at the moment.

He scored 140 against Adelaide who have a much better defence than GWS or Melbourne who Port played first up. That performance assures me he should score well again this week. Who matches up on him from GC that will stop him? No-one that I can see, especially as Port also have Schulz who is capable of dominating should GC get on top of Westhoff.

Plus I traded him in last week :D

I think the ship might have sailed, with me onboard, but the Westhoff situation is a good example of one that we need to be aware of this season.

If there's a chance to jump on a good/semi-premium player for an underperformer instead of a rookie and make the same amount of cash then I don't see why you shouldn't be doing it.

This week I have heard plenty of people discussing doing the same with Luke Hodge who has a BE of 1, is a proven scorer and could easily be the stepping stone to Ablett in a couple of weeks.

Personally I'm not going with him as I feel Lyon will send de Boer to him and keep him quiet but if they weren't playing Freo i'd be jumping on faster than a fat kid on a cupcake...
